Would it be okay to use a TSA approved lock flying from the US into Canada? I heard that airport officials in other countries do not have the required keys to open TSA approved locks, but cannot find any definite answers about using a lock when flying into Canada.

I know this from my experience flying within the US.
Every time I have gone to the airport with a suitcase with anything that looked like it may have been a locked lock,
I was always asked if it was locked and if so, did I have the key.
Best bet would be to leave it unlocked.

Locks are no longer allowed. You will definitely have to unlock your case for the air portion of your trip. However, it's still a good idea to bring the lock. You can lock your suitcase at your hotel, and keep the contents safe there.

If you lock your suitcase nowdays, you will have it opened for sure. Sometimes they take the time to unlock it, and others they just break it instead.

I fly all the time, you don't want to put anything in your suit case that needs to be locked away. Take those things onto the plane instead, otherwise you will be sorry.

particular she could. At India Airport: If at protection in India if she is asked to open the luggage, then she could unfastened up and lock it returned after the checking is executed. yet as quickly as the protection clears the bag there is not any rationalization for the airport officers to open it returned. this way there is not any possibility of theft on the airport. At end over Airport: throughout her experience if she has a end in between then her luggage additionally gets trasferred to the recent airplane. At this component the protection at that airport can intrude and in the event that they have any suspicion they have the main suitable and that they are going to open the luggage without your consent to study them. till this occurs the luggage arrive in US locked and shield. At US Airport: no remember despite if the luggage arrive in US locked or unlocked, on the airport itself verify for any damages to the bag and if any got here upon a criticism could be filed on the airport itself. The airline that flew the final leg is to blame to for the damages. desire this facilitates.

Don't lock your luggage, inspectors have to be able to look inside. If you put a lock on it, they may break the lock or the suitcase to get into it.

Instead of using a lock that would require a key, use one of those key ring things that you find on key chains.

Don't do it; it prompts them to look in your suitcase and to search it. Just to save hassle and them going through your stuff don't use it. Besides, you are just going to Canada.
