A moving violation occurred on a Friday against a minor (un licensed driver) and police called parent to notify a citation would be issued on Monday. Both charges the officer claims are weak ones. Isn't there a violation by the officer? He obviously thinks he identified the driver - how long does an officer have before issuing a citation?

probably has 7-14 days to issue it

We had a bad accident where we lived - guy ran the stop sign
and someone was killed

If the police officer had issued a citation for the stop sign - the guys lawyer would have had him down paying the ticket the next day = so the District Attorney could not charge him with vehicular homocide - double jeopardy for the same incident

So the officer may be consulting with the DA to properly charge the driver.

sorry

An unlicensed driver is not a weak charge. Whether the DA wants to prosecute is another thing.
