Ooooooh I've missed you! You've always been one of my favorite participants.

Well, absence of evidence isn't necessarily evidence of absence, but given that the concept is both devoid of ANY empirical evidence AND completely impossible logically, I'll have to agree with you...

gOds don't exist.

No.

The presumed "lack of evidence" is insufficient because it is not real. The "lack of evidence" comes about because people attribute alternative, but equally unproved explanations for that which Christians or other theists or Pagans would attribute to deity.

Too, there is significant evidence for, if not god, some sort of existence beyond this life, which many atheistic sorts simply discount, or refuse to even look at.

I've yet to see one atheist attempt to refute the material gathered by the American Society for Psychical Research in debth. Claims such as "no-one's come back from the dead to say what's on the otherside" abound, but when claims to such occur, they remain unanswered or dismissed without investigation. That's contempt without prior investigation.

Most who claim a lack of evidence have never looked for it.

No. If you have a definition of god which allows for a logical analysis, then there necessarily is a god. Several philosophers throughout history have used that approach. They define "god" as the biggest, most high, most whatever that exists. If the one you thought was god does not really exist, then the next biggest, most high or whatever that does exist is really god.

Neat, huh? Says nothing much about the nature of said god, but he or she or it (or they?) do exist.

I’m sure it does for those who have never felt God’s loving presence.
