I am 17 and I'm going alone to London. I would like to know if I can check-in in a hotel without an adult.

They do not usually ask date of birth, but obviously if a 10 year old was to walk into reception questions may be asked.

Pre-booking often requires credit/debit card, but if you go to a hotel as off chance, and pay cash up front at 17 years old you will be ok.

as you are over 16 there is not a problem - at 16 in this country you are pretty much classed as an adult even though you haven't reached the age of majority.

you can legally leave home at 16 and live where you want, so I dont see why hotels would be a problem at all

strictly speaking you will need an adult guarantor, as you are forming a contract with the hotel. under 18's can not form contracts.

You may get away with it, but a bit of a risk really, unless you can get an adult prepared to vouch for you and provide CC details.

No legal problem. However major hotels will be concerned about payment and proof of identity. Back street hotels are best avoided until you are a bit more street savvy.
