I have full sleeves, I had them done when I was young and in the military. Now that I'm older I have to wear long sleeve shirts when I work and at job interviews. I see a lot of young people with tattoos on their necks and hands, I was just wondering if you thought in out before you got the tattoo. I have over 50 tattoos and full sleeves I don't regret any of mine. But life sure would of been easier without them.

When I was younger I didn't really think hard about it because I didn't care. I don't regret any of mine but I think I would have placed a few of them differently. Like when I was 18-20 I got several smaller ones and now I would like to do some bigger custom work but I would have incorporate the small ones into them. But as far as work, it has never affected me that way. I have them in visible places too.

I thought long and hard before I had my right arm sleeved. It wasn't something I jumped into. I thought about my career, and could I handle stares, comments and just negativity. Being a chick that is heavily tattooed is sometimes hard, I can not count how many times I have heard "But you're such a beautiful girl, why would you do that to yourself ? " I knew long ago I would be sleeved, in about 6 months the other arm will be done.
But I also know I can handle the stares the commments, and when that person gives me a glare, I give em a smile.
Far as my career goes, the hair industry is full of heavily tattooed people. I feel more comfortable at work with my tattoos then the real world. It doesn't hurt my job it sort of enhances it.
I do worry about the kid who is 18 and is getting sleeved and the noticably places. I hope they know what they are getting into.
I have never regretted getting my tattoos, I do regret that people just see the outside and don't really want to look at what's in the inside.

YES sleeves ROCK! I 25 and starting my sleeves and i do not regret a thing. Each one means something special to me and it reflects my personality, beliefs, and who i am.

Where i work now it doesnt matter but i have worked at a place where i had to wear long sleeves and it never bothered me. The world is changing and more and more jobs are ok with long hair tattoos and piercings. It will take time but tattoos are becoming more and more exceptable. You should wear them proudly! and honestly whats the big deal having to wear a long sleeve shirt to work?? **** i had to wear pants to cause i have them on my legs.. hot in the summer time but worth it :)

I have a red rose on my right thigh and a blue shooting star on my shoulder. Both are covered by clothes every day, unless I wear a bikini!

I thought very hard about my tats before having them done - I wanted something that wouldn't look stupid when I was an old lady, things that are important to me (I have always adored red roses, and am an astrophysicist by training) and that wouldn't ever cause any problems.

Most people don't know I have them, although I do like showing them off when i can!

I have full sleeves and full back tattoos. But in my line of business it doesn't matter. However I do have friends that must cover them up because they are not considered professional. But I understand what you are saying, depending on your profession they could hold you back or prevent you from getting the job you want.

I jumped into both of my first two tattoos & didn't think about them at all. I don't regret them though & I don't think I will when I am 50 either. Although I know what you mean about it being easier if you didn't have them all over, one of mine is low on my wrist and it has been difficult with interviews and such.

I have 4 tattoos total... and I have one tattoo on my temple and one tattoo on my neck. I have thought about the consequences from having said tattoos. Fortunately, my work (accounting, consulting) does not have any problem with my tattoos. But if they did, I have a plan for that as well. I have long hair so it easily covers the tattoo on my neck and I have a special stage makeup for the tiny one on my temple.

i probably over think my tattoos. which is why i have none that are visible on a daily basis. i do have plans for more but they will be well thought out and i have made a commitment to think about it for 5 years before i get a tattoo on my arms.

it's good to see that you have no regrets later in life.
