WE now tout the largest U.S. Consulate in the green zone. No one is safe outside the green zone. This is after 6 years of war-how long does it take to make it safe outside a small area like the green zone? Why is is we don't know how many Iraqi civilians are dead since we invaded-are we that disinterested in the deaths of those we say we are helping?

Well lets see. What has been accomplished by the occupation? A lot of great work has been done since the occupation began, however, a lot still needs to be done. WE have immunized millions of children, school attendance is up 80 percent; with 1500 schools receiving renovations. For the first time in many years all hospitals are operating on a daily basis, and ports have been upgraded for improved off-loading of goods. We also continue to work on infrastructure throughout the country, but with suicide bombers blowing themselves up on a daily basis it's difficult to make real progress. Bottom line we have done a lot, but there is a lot that still needs to be done. We need to fix sanitation and water treatment...fix the power grid...fix the oil pipelines and get that stuff pumping so the Iraqis have some currency to fend for themselves. Many people think Iraq is worse off today then they were under Saddam, but they would be mistaken. Sure there was peace, but it was a peace instilled by fear, just like Tito's Yugoslavia. Is it bad in Iraq, absolutely, but we can have success there if people give it a chance. They cannot do it alone, and neither can we. We need to stop alienating the international community and encourage all nations; especially the Muslim nations to step up and secure this country to prevent further turmoil in the region.

Were WMD ever found? Yes, although people don't want to hear that because it would mean this administration was correct about something. WMD was found in Iraq, and continues to be found in Iraq on a regular basis. Much of these weapons are Pre-1991 era chemicals, but still dangerous WMDs none the less. http://politicscentral.com/audio/2006/09/Iraq_NGIC_Unclassified_WMDs_083106.pdf

Do Iraqis want us there? I believe the majority of Iraqis want us in there country, but it's hard to judge. As more suicide bombings happen and more terrorists flow into that country the Iraqis believe our presence is the cause of all the violence, but the majority of these suicide bombings are not killing US soldiers; rather Iraqis. It doesn't make sense. If they really want the United States out of the country they could take a vote and the US would leave tomorrow. The leaders there realize the United States is holding that country together with 100mph tape, but it's not going to get better overnight. Even if the United States were to leave tomorrow the Muslims would still need to establish some type of security force in Iraq to keep it from falling into total chaos.

I often like to think of the US as the French during the Revolutionary War. Without there assistance this country would still be under British rule. The French could have given up when they lost men, but they did not turn their backs on us, and we should not turn our backs on the Iraqis. War is a tough business, and having been deployed to the region three times I speak from experience. No war was won without challenges, but we CAN win this if people give it a chance.

Thats alot of Questions. I will answer as breifly as possible. What was accomplished? The avoidance of a bloodbath in a power vacuum. And The concentration of Al Queda into an area where we can fight them. WMDs? yes. We fond them> Not in the #s we expected, but we found them. Yes, most Iraqis have the presense of mind to know that if we leave, the shi-ite / sunni war is on. Why don't we know exact civilian casualties? It is a war and there are more than just 2 players involved. Not everyone properly reports every death. Our military is just a small part of the population.

Hey there are WMD well sorta kind of a chemical and a WMD mixed together one because there was many reports of cholrine based bombs found in Iraq. Have you heard of the Korean war after 50 years theres is still conflict and also about 85 percent of the population wants us there plus if the Iraqis doesnt want the troops to be there the US military will instintly get out of the country.

Actually its a fact that about 85% of the Iraqis DO want the US Military there, not just the government but other group studies. If the whole country didnt want us there, I bet there would be more than a bomb or two a day.

Weve taken down a crazy dictator that noone else would even after he defied the UN on multiple fronts, the Military did find Sarin and Mustard Gas, we assured that Iran wouldnt take Iraq, we have a new foothold in the Middle East (Specifically next to Iran), and in the future we will have another ally in the Middle East and an ally w/ alot of oil.

Well, I still believe that Iraq was a good idea to invade. But the Iraqis dont want to help themselves. They want us to do all the work for them, and I think that our offer to rebuild their country shoudnt be open ended.

The problem is that countries like Iran and Pakistan are activly working against us and sending in weapons to the insurgents. Most of the insurgents that are attacking us are not Iraqis, but the Iraqis are the ones turning a blind eye to the violence and not telling our guys where the terrorists are hiding...
