A few different things.

CV is the basic designation for a carrier. The V refers to fixed wing aircraft. (Think visually of the aircraft wing sweep)

CVA was the old designation for assault carriers. These were different from CVE (escort carriers) in their ability to carry aircraft other than fighters for fleet defense.

CVF is the the working name for the British "Next Generation" carrier. The F stands for future.

The U.S. carriers now are CVNs-- Carrier, Fixed Wing, Nuclear Powered.

a CV is just an aircraft carrier, I don't think they use this designation anymore

a CVA is an attack aircraft carrier, carries attack (bomber) jets, I don't think they use this designation anymore either

not sure if there is a CVF?

but a CVN is a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, all carriers now days are designated CVN

I served on board the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70)

*sigh* no body knows HISTORY any more!

CV stands for "cruiser, aviation" when it's first proposed. The first carrier were adapted from cruisers. Nowadays a regular Cruiser is CA (Cruiser, Armored) and a Ticonderoga Class is CG (cruiser, guided missile)

CVA basically means a heavier / larger cruiser than a regular CV. A stands for "attack", according to the navy. Later A was taken out and CVAs are redesignated as CVs. The difference is CVA carries both defense fighters AND attack aircraft, such as A-6 Intruders and/or F/A-18 Hornets that can do ground attacks, where as the smaller CVE (Carrier, Escort) carry mainly defense fighters.

There is no US Navy hull designation CVF. You may be referring to a British program that's trying to design a "carrier future" (CV F).
