The use of a laser is one of the most wonderful things that has happened to dentistry. They can use the laser just as your dentist said without injections. You won't feel a thing, the procedure is very quick and painless. It also replaces that god awful noise that the dental drill makes. Many people find that the noise generated by the drill is enough to make their skin crawl. With the laser you don't have that noise, and you don't have to experience injections, and then being numb for three hours. You will be fine, many people are very nervous about dental treatment you are not alone. You are very lucky that they caught the cavities early. Make sure that you are not only brushing after every meal, but flossing at least once a day as well. BTW: enamel can remineralize if the decay is not too deep, however once the decay has broken through to the dentin layer than it can't remineralize. So the other poster that mentioned the "soap" product is partly correct, however not all decay can be arrested without dental intervention such as fillings. Good luck.

You know, if you tell the dental team that you are nervous, they will do everything they can to let you know what they are doing and make sure you are not in pain. There shouldn't be any "surprises!"

If the dentist caught them really early, you may not even need any shots at all. The important thing is to remember you need to communicate with the dentist. If you are uncomfortable, raise your hand and wave. They will stop and find out what's going on. You are not at the mercy of some diabolical doctor. Most fears people have are either because they don't communicate or they have put off getting the tiny things taken care of so it's major work.

Be up front. You'll discover your fears are groundless if you take the initiative for your care.

Good luck. . . .I doubt you'll even need it!

so get rid of them -

I did

in Oct 2005 I went to my dentist with a broken crown - he found 4 cavities that he could fix for $185 each. I said I would wait on my new job - get dental insurance there - and them have them fixed.

In April '06 I found ToothSoap - and started using twice a day In May - finally got brave enought to get an appt - and the earliest was Jan '07 - got in for examination - we talked about replacing two implants - BUT - I asked - what about my cavities?

You have NO cavities, sir. WOW! So a week later I got my teeth cleaned - asked my hygenist about cavities - NOPE - you have none!

My teeth had re-enameled!

So here's the site. and they have a free book to read.

NOW - two words of caution - do not - DO NOT - let this stuff get in the back of your tongue where the 'salty' part is tasted - or you will cry ! UUUgggHHHHHHHH! have done it twice - and do not swallow it! - always rinse and spit

keep it in the front of your mouth.

Secondly, they suggest taking a strand and clinching it back in your molars - ahhhhhhhh I have learned I get the same results by just squishing a 1/4-3/8 " piece into my toothbrush and it foams up just perfectly.

Argue with my success - I did not have to pay $700+ for my cavities - just $20 for ToothSoap - and yes - I threw a half a tube of toothpaste AWAY! The ingredients in toothpaste prevent your teeth from re-enameling.

Also have read about a mother and child - they had 9 (NINE) cavities between them that re-enameled.
Let's keep our teeth!

best of luck (don't cry) time to laugh!

A jar is supposed to last 2 people 3 months
I use it by myself (and sometimes just brush once a day) but
it has lasted a year now - and I am not to the bottom yet!
I am 54 years young! 9-1-1 operator

and you will notice a different 'clean' after the first time you use it!

I gotta go brush my teeth!

For you to have 6 cavities in such a short time ( assume that you have regular check up), you must have some change in yours health (more acidic in the saliva, less saliva, eating more sweet,...), otherwise I recommend a second opinion. Not all small ( what defined small is the opinion of the dentist) cavities have to be filled rigth away, I have patients that had "small' cavities that I have been watch for 5 years and they do not get bigger and do not have to be filled.

If you don't get them taken care of you could be in alot of pain. I too dislike going to the dentist but have had to learn that it is worse not to have the teeth taken care of and end up having to have a root canal. The dentist will more than likely offer you some novocain or gas to keep you more comfortable. Good luck to you!!

I've had cavities in the past. The dentist gave me shots so I didn't feel a thing, so there is no need to worry.

I agree with the last post by the hygienist. The laser is a GREAT invention. Even though, they may not need to use any injections, if you are still really nervous about the procedure, you should ask your Dr. about Halcion. It will help you to relax, and feel more calmed. The only contraindication, is that you must have someone drive you.

*Hope this helps*
