Absolutely - laughter lifts the spirit, in much the same way as art, music, good writing, and people.

What makes me laugh? Loads of things. Silly things people do. Among professionals - again, loads - Billy Connolly, Eddie Izzard, Bill Bailey, Dave Gorman, Bill Hicks, Victoria Wood, Alan Davies, Rich Hall, Greg Proops, Ardal O'Hanlon, Ed Byrne, Dara O'Briain, Dylan Moran, Woody Allen, Neil Simon, Linda Smith, Sandi Toksvig, Tony Hancock, Galton and Simpson, Grant and Naylor, Neil Simon. Did I mention I'm a comedy anorak?

Recently went to see a recording of QI, with Bill Bailey, Alan Davies, and Rich Hall on it - thought I'd died and gone to comedy heaven...

Stupidly ticklish. Feet, stomach, etc, makes me curl up and cringe.

" A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."
Proverbs 17:22

On the other hand:
"Like the crackling of thorns under the pot,
so is the laughter of fools.
This too is meaningless."
Ecclesiastes 11:6

I once heard a story of a man In New York City who was robbed and stripped naked and then ran through the rain from assailants, and upon trying to cross an el rail, was electrocuted, while the crowd of people observing his plight laughed.
Sometimes laughter exposes the worst of human nature.

Laughter is such a sweet thing. It helped me in rough times, and it eased my pain. What makes me laugh is any funny joke, move, and I especially like parodies (Which make fun of actors, singers etc).
