Dandruff is a particular skin condition and should be given medical attention, however what most people have is just a dry scalp producing flaky skin. Use a gentle shampoo, one which is not detergent based. The golden rule is if it gentle enough for your face then is ok for your scalp. Don't use dandruff shampoos because they often contain zinc based substances which wreck the hair. The skin on your scalp is no different to skin on the rest of your body, if you use a harsh product it will dry it out. Aussie Mega Shampoo is good,as are many others with similar formulas.

Dandruff is a hassle.
I've had to deal with it for a good portion of my life.
I think dandruff is just the sideaffects of a dry scalp. Try using some shampoo especially for dandruff, like Head and Shoulders. That's what I used, and my dandruff eventually went away.
You won't see immediate results, but gradually, it'll get better.

Heat some olive oil and massage it into your scalp. Wrap your hair in a hot towel and leave it for 15 minutes, then wash hair thoroughly.
