My name is Felicia, which means happy or happiness. It's odd because i've seen so many things, and led such a sad life. Maybe they were so happy to get a girl that they named me Felicia. That's one question i should have asked them before their untimely deaths.I don't know what other name i would like to have been called. I've carried this name for 28 years.

My fiancé and I have been talking a great deal about names since we plan to have a family one day. There are only a few names that we agree on. He thinks that your name is important because people can stereotype you based on the name you give without even seeing you. Names that sound too, unusual or as he put it ethnic for lack of a better word; (not one ethnicity in particular but just common names used in several cultures) tend to make people judge you before they meet you. I personally think those people are shallow and not worth dealing with. So back to the question yes I do like my name, which is Erica and I would never change it. I think if you dislike your name a lot then you do have the right to change it.

I used to hate my name. "Melissa" always sounded so prim and proper and "Missy" (my nickname) always sounded like a 5 year old's name. But after I learned that I was named for family members, (my mom's great-grandma was Melissa and my dad's aunt was Melissa) I thought Melissa was a pretty cool name. And at 44, I still go by Missy! When I was growing up, I either wanted to be Christina or Diana. Now I don't really care for either of those names!

I got my name because when my dad went to register me he couldn't remember how to spell the 1 my mum has chosen so as he chose his own favourite name am very glad wouldn't have wanted the other, my sister got that name instead but uses her middle name.

I have never met any one else with my name although I know there are some out there. I always thought that was cool, I think it would be strange to know someone else with your name. However I would have been loved to have been called some hippy name like Rainbow or River, now that really would be different.

Yes, I think that my name is beautiful. : Jacqueline, is my name. My ears may be playing tricks on me, but last week in school, some pupils were playing games on the computers, there was background music on the computers, and I could hear my name being sung repeatedly, so sweetly, with melody, so gently, from one of the computers : " Jacqueline, Jacqueline, Jacqueline."

back in the early 60's was when the flower power days were at it's best and my mum was one of them free spirit hippie girls, when she was pregnant with me she was at a festival and she over heard an American lady shouting her little daughter, her name was Cheryl, so my mum decided to name me after that little girl because she loved it.... so yeah...i am happy with the name, i don't think i would like another name, Cheryl is an OK name for me...the name Cheryl means LOVE (in French)
