Jesus said one must come through him in order to have salvation. Staying along the Christian line of thinking. Jesus is God. God is Love. Jesus is Love. So, "salvation" means we must go through Love in order to experience the Divine, correct?

Line Dancer....I kept my line of questioning from the Christian viewpoint. I'm okay that you do not believe Jesus is God. Are you okay with others saying Jesus is God?

I can't help but think you are over simplifying things a bit. Yes to be christian you love others, but it also about having faith, and being kind and forgiving even when all you want to do is shout at someone who is annoying you.

saying you "must go through Love in order to experience the Divine" is like saying those of us who have never dated are doomed to hell, which would be a bit of a problem if you were a kind and well loved ten year old.

Maybe ther best way of putting it is that you must show kind love, love without necessarily expecting it returned. There can be so many emotions which disguise them self as love, such as lust and greed but you can never call them Devinne or truly heavenly, just pail imitations.

Jesus is not God. He's God's Son. See John 10:36.

It's not what I believe. The Bible calls Jesus God's Son.

At John 17:3, Jesus called his Father the ONLY true God. So, how then could Jesus also be God? Do you know what "only" means?

You say "Staying along the Christian line of thinking," then you say "kept my line of questioning from the Christian viewpoint." What's it gonna be? You can't have it both ways.

The way I see it is this: You are very right. The spiritually most important thing is to develop the attribute of divine love.

Mark 12:29-31
29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

I think these words of Jesus are rather clear that love is the primary thing, don't you?

I'd say more but I need to go now.

Love and Peace.

God bless!

Correct :-)

Whether Jesus was Man, or Son of God really doesn't matter, his message of Love and simplicity is the essence of what he contributed to anyone willing to see it.

Through Love we find the divine within all of us, and all of life.

Think of the universe as God, Life the part of God that is aware of itself, inanimate matter the bones of God.

To feel a complete and abiding Love for all of existence is the purpose to which all Life is called.

wow this is almost word for word on a question I asked once
although as you know I am not Christian
I believe that to reach that highest level and reach the God energy
we must become Christ like in our spiritual development
we can do this here or in the next life... we can take our self closer to joining with the God head once we achieve Christ like compassion
and we can replace those words with Buddha/krishna consciousness etc also ( I am sure you understand what I mean )

I think it is all about love. Look at the commandmentsthe first few are all about our love for God..the rest are about our love for everyone else. Everything Jesus did was about love...salvation is love....

1 Corinthians 13:1-3

1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is vital to faith-but it is not faith itself- you can't be saved by acts of love or love itself.

I would say YES. That's what the Bible says:

1 John 4

11Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
