Besides both being fine works of art in the classical style what these two paintings have in common is the central focus of each painting.

Both works of art use a goddess-like woman as the focus point with each woman being adored, attended to, almost worshiped, by all around her. Each goddess is being pampered both physically and through unabashed attention.

Basically each artist was putting his chosen woman upon a symbolic pedestal.

Perhaps each was paying homage to all women? Perhaps they were painting their vision of the perfect woman? Or perhaps they were re-creating a mother figure?

The styles and concepts are completely different, but the people in the paintings happen to have similar poses.
