I wouldn't do it, you don't know if you'll always feel the same way about this guy. Plus, tatoos are permanent (unless you have several laser removal treatments) And I don't want to play the guilt card, but what would your future husband or boyfriend think? Or your children? You should seriously think about what YOU will be getting out of this. And also, tatoos can have bad side affects, and if your body changes drastically, so will the tat.

My friend has had a tattoo of the "love of her life" tattooed on her upper arm for over 8 years. The "love of her life" has moved on to greener pastures. While her situation is different from yours, she deeply reqrets her tattoo but is not in a position to have it removed. Tattoo removal is both painful & expensive. If your friendship is as strong as you believe it to be, the relationship will endure. If you want/need the tat as a momento or some sort of declaration about the relationship, the relationship was not & is not that great to start with.

I understand why you'd think of doing this. I had a boyfriend for 5 years and stayed friends for two more. I was the one to break it off with him. He is now getting married and is going to have a baby. I don't speak to him anymore. I was thinking of getting a tattoo having to do with him. He was in my life, and who knows how different I would have turned out if he hadn't been. I was thinking of getting his nick name. Then again I'm the type of person who doesn't give a sh*t what anyone thinks. Also, all these people are saying your future boyfriend or husband will freak out but they should take you and accept you the way they meet you.

Honestly, no. First, you shouldn't get anybody's that you are/were romantically link too name tattoo on your yourself even if you do care for them. Besides, how would you feel if you meet THE guy for you and you have your ex's name tattooed on you. Remember him though pictures, not by body art.

NO,not a good idea. Oten people who tatoo a name on themselves, find that the relationship changes and ends at some point before death. Also do you always want to explain that name to everyone?

Why, why, why would you do that. My answer is no. Never put a romantic interest's name on your body. Believe me someday it will matter to you. Is he going to put your name on his wrist? My husband and I have symbolic tattoos representing each other, but we have been married for quite a while, we share a life and children together. You have years to make a commitment to someone, with your, love, life, and physical body.

I don't suggest that you get his name on your wrist. However, it is your decision and in the end it is up to you. If you do get his name maybe you should think about getting it in a less visible place such as your upper thigh.

Why would you do this? Really think about it, just because you have feeling for him now doesn't mean you will in 5 years. How will you explain this when you get married or have a new boyfriend?

NOOOOOO!!!!!! don't you like being friends with him? because if you did that, you would freak him out and no longer be friends at all. i think you prob. still have feelings for him, but really, just don't do it. he'll think you are desperate.
