in the last two weeks I have gained 5 pounds. But I dont notice a difference in the extra five pounds and either does anyone else. You see im on a weight lifting diet 250 grams protein 300 grams carbs. And one week I noticed I was geting a little bot hungryer than usawal so I ate an extra maybe 700 calories one day but last night was really bad I ate a piece of fried chciken an english muffin 3 bags of vegetables and some grapes and half piece of cottage cheese. OH MY GOD AND NOW IM 159 pounds! Im soo scared it makes me not want to eat. So the next day I just went back to my usawal diet im geting rid of the stupid whey protein shakes and eating protein instead. I think the shakes dont even provide me with energy cause its like a liquid. What should I do. If I just eat regulaur like I was and weight lift everyday will it go away?

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

5lbs doesn't make a difference unlss you must be a certain weight for a sport (like wrestling).

While I was training in the martial arts extensively I realized something. I could eat almost anything I wanted, no special diets, just normal variety of foods. My weight went up and down from 115lbs-135lbs (I'm 5'3), but I stayed the same size, still thin. A twenty pound difference and no change in size of clothes or size of my waist or anything. Your five pound difference is just in the number.

Maybe once you go to the bathroom in the next few days and get rid of that "extra" food, your weight will go down 5lbs.

Besides, if your body is telling you it's hungry, then it needs food. Just like if you feel thirsty, you need water. Your body knows.

If you are not actually keeping track of your weight for a sport, then I suggest you see someone for an eating disorder. Counting calories and worrying you are overweight for 5lbs are signs are EDs. Men can have EDs, just as women do.

Maybe, muscle weighs more than fat though. So, if you add protein and lift weights you are going to put on muscle/pounds. You will still slim down b/c you will be losing fat, but it is normal for men to actually add weight when they lift weights and eat protein.

If this regimen is something that you just started then the weight gain will not get any better because you are replacing the fat with muscle and muscle weighs more than fat.

159 pounds is not over-weight.

Quit torturing yourself and enjoy life.
