You can do either. My husband already had his degree and went through OCS in Pensacola to be commissioned. You may also apply to the Naval Academy, put your 4 years in, and be commissioned that way. I believe the cut-off age is 26 (?) and you must not be married or have any children. Since you've already got 2 years of school under your belt, I recommend sticking it out and then going through OCS. 12 weeks in Pensacola will be much easier than 4 years at USNA and you won't loose 2 years of your life.

You can't just go to Naval Academy you must apply and be have a sponsor. I.e. congressman etc. I would also suggest you check out the US Merchant Marine Academy. You can go into any branch after graduating. Here is the link:

if you are in ROTC, it's too late to apply to the Academy. If you are in JROTC, you need to apply NOW.

BTW.. there is no Marine ROTC.. Only Navy. a certain number of Naval ROTC Grads can choose the Marine Option.

My first words of advice would be to check out with the Navy to see if you can do a degree whilst you are in the service.
I have heard that it is possible, but I am on the other side of the world.
My second suggestion is to visit the link below for "career options"
