find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

There are a lot of exercises you can do. I'm not going to make many suggestions because I'm sure you heard most of them before. What I will tell you is to turn off the tv. Go outside as much as possible. Listen to energetic music. Play with your son. Limit the amount of junk food in your home. These are all little things but you will burn off a few more calories all the time all day long without even realizing it. It doesn't replace the need for exercise but it gets you headed in the right direction. Don't be a perfectionist about it either. If you miss a day running or have to do a short workout, don't beat yourself up or quit. Just pick yourself up and get back on schedule. I have lost 20 lbs and still have 80 to go but I'm feeling happier with life already.

Hey dear, it's not clear if u only hate gyms or exercise at all 'cause there's a difference. If gyms are irritating there's a lot to do at home.A Treadmill is a solution, jumping a rope, climbing stairs, jogging, swimming, and manny others. Why not do aerobics on ur own ?Anyway start with any for 15 min and increase it gradually, you will enjoy it, listen to music mean while.Cut down on snacking, if u get hungry go for lite snacks like veggies,or low caloric items.Don't skip meals but notice what u eat(low fat) avoid fried food and eat steamed items .Eating 3 meals with 2 lite snacks will increase ur metabolic rate.Drink a lot of water 8 glasses are wonderful.Feel good about ur self and don't rush it.I believe this is the best way to do it. Try to consult a dietition for some monitoring ,Good luck.

1. Write down everything you eat for a week
2. Meal plan the next week, covering all food groups, especially fruits and vegetables but also whole grain pastas, breads, etc, and lean meats.
3. Eat out less or chose lower calorie meals when you eat out, not quick fast food that is empty calories and you're hungry again in an hour or two
4. Stand instead of sit when you're watching tv, on the phone, etc, it burns more calories...move all the time if you can, even in the car ( but just like rolling your shoulders, etc)
5. Quick/ easy excercises like squats, steps, sit ups, lunges, pushups (yes, girl pushups are fine), etc, anything you can think of.
6. Get your heart up, If you can take your son for a walk in a stroller, etc get a good brisk walk up and increase heart rate (burns more calories)
7. Low fat dairy
8. Sweets only for special occasions, and limit them.
9. Snacks like fruit slices, low fat cheese or yogurt, carrots, other veggie slices
10. Laugh and smile...that actually burns calories and turns on endorphins in your brain, make you feel better and healthier

I am 33 and diabetic. My weight flucuates greatly and quickly. I have lost 40 pounds since mid March by doing not much more than usual and eating properly. I try to eat about 1500 calories a day but eat as much as I need to get full. I eat a lot of fiber when i can find it otherwise I try to use pills or food additives. I limit my meats and carbs to as little as possible and try to eat as many greens as I can get in me. Fish at least 4 or 5 times a week helps too. Just be sensible and do no to try to starve yourself.

The only proven way to lose weight is to eat less and move more, period. But if you have a happy family and still can't be "happy in life" because of 20 or 30 pounds, you need to work on more than your weight.

You're on the right track already. It took you 26 years to get to where you are, you aren't going to drop it overnight. But the learn to run clinic is a great idea. Do you have one of those three-wheeled strollers so you can take yout little boy with you when you run?
Good luck to you - just stick with it and you WILL lose that weight
