Very likely you are lactose-intolerant. Lactose is the specific sugar that is found in milk. Milk is a major ingredient in most such nutrient drinks. I don't know if they make a lactose-reduced, or lactose-free version. Activated charcoal seems to take the odor away, but does not prevent the flatulence. You could use Lactaid, and find out if this is the problem. Lactaid, and other similar generic products, works well in some folks, not-so-well in others. Good luck!

First off Slimfast is garbage and there are better meal replacements like Myoplex by EAS. Second, Activated Charcoal is effective for many people with similar problems. Two other things to try or look into are Papaya Enzyme and or Bromelain. Papaya is a natural digestive enzyme that helps many people with acid reflux, mild digestant problems and gas. Bromelain is a protein digestive enzyme and extra gas is due to your body not breaking down all the protein. Bromelain is well known and used by many in similar situations.

Some people have success on Slimfast. You may be lactose intolerant. Protein shakes works best for me. Try 1 Cup of Island Oasis Pina Colada with 1 scoop of Protein and ice. Blend into a smoothie. Keeps me full till dinner. Plus no gas!!
