You should definitely eat enough to be full before your flight (whenever I don't eat much before a long flight, I feel sick for the entire flight). DON'T overeat. That would probably make you sick as soon as you lift off. I personally don't like airplane food so I bring a lot of my own food and eat the airplane food that seems 'edible' to me (like ice cream).

Try bringing things that you can eat with your hands, such as crackers, chips, etc. . Keep yourself hydrated throughout the flight either with the drinks they provide onboard or some of your own (after you pass security and get into the terminal).

If you have any allergies to the air, see your doctor to find out exactly what you're allergic to. Perhaps he/she can prescribe something for you...

You cannot do it unless you know exactly what substance you are allergic to.

You cannot be allergic to air in general as if that is the case, you would experience it everywhere. Therefore, you must be allergic to something that is contained in the airline air that does not exist elsewhere.

The only way you can do this, is be tested by a doctor.

Other than this, you could try anti-histamine type medication where it would suppress your reaction to allergens. You may have total or limited success with it.

You should see a doctor to get a proper diagnosis.

I always carry my own food on board airplanes -- not easy these days particularly with carry-on restrictions -- but even a peanut butter and jelly sandwich can get you through the flight. I find the less I eat in flight the better I deal with jet lag anyway. As for medications, have you checked out an immune booster dietary supplement like Immune Alert (www.immunealert.com). It doesn't actually fight allergies but it does prime your immune system to better fight off all kinds of ickies that you may encounter when traveling and in your daily life. My family takes it and we love it! Good luck and happy travels!

Some airlines will ask you if you are allergic to any kind of food or if you don't eat a certain kind of food they will cater to your needs just let them know when you check in also you might want to tell the flight attendent. you can buy your own food before your flight. all airlines have a 1 800 number and a e mail where you can ask questions on there web sites. good luck and have a great flight.
