Schneb, do you have an intellectually honest bone in your body? You gave me apologetics, not honest evidence.

PaulCyp, where is your evidence?

Crazy Cowgirl, you're proving my point for me.

Utuk, good question, but I was asking for biblical views, not geography and history.

Pinkrose, I encourage you to study geology, specifically plate tectonics.

Jiloth7, to be friendly, what part of the term 'evidence' don't you understand.

Scott, utuk and Andy, thank you for your honest responses. If any of you are Christian I commend you.

Jiloth7, by your defensive stance you have proven how fragile your faith is. My question was honest and harmless. Your response is very telling. Is there proof in that pudding?

Drake, you dazzle me with eloquential manure. You're as intellectually dishonest as Scheb.

The more I read the disingenuous and utterly dishonest answers of certain Christians on this board the deeper my disdain for their creed becomes. Low lifes.

What are you asking?
You want examples where Biblical statements are supported by scientific research? That would take all night. The Bible constantly references the geography, history, philosophy, and religion of its authors.
I suspect you are looking for natural evidence for Creationism. Not only is there no scientific evidence for Creationism, there is Biblical evidence either (unless you violently rip the original documents out of context).

We find fossil records worldwide. How could fossils have come into being if there was not great pressure (by the Flood) exerted on the creatures that we find in the fossil record?
Normally if creatures die, they decay or are eaten up by scavengers. But the fossils were preserved through the layers that were pressed on them.

Therefore I believe the record of the worldwide flood in Genesis chapters 6-8 is true.

There is nothing in the natural world that conflicts with my religious beliefs. Truth cannot conflict with truth. Natural truth as revealed by science and doctrinal truth revealed by God are in perfect harmony.

What Schneb said and more. As far as evolution is concerned there is one question that has never been answered by an evolutionist and never will.

"Going through Darwin's tree of life to the root there is a big problem, namely, where did the root come from. The simple life form that Darwin claims began all this "natural selection" and etc. had to have a source. It didn't just appear out of nothing. To believe it did would take more faith than it takes to be a Christian believing in a Creator.

So my question is - "Where did the first life form originate from that Darwin says all other life forms evolved from?"

YOU EVIL--------UTIONISTS JUST DON'T GET IT DO YOU?
You come with you puny mortal understanding and think your way into silliness and then try to get someone to refute your ignorance by the standards you set. There is one standard in the universe that is acceptable - God's standards. WITH THAT IN MIND, you will never understand God because you refuse to put aside you pathetic reasoning and so-called logic
and exercise the faith that will open up you eyes to truth you cannot grasp with the natural mind. IT IS CALLED SPIRITUAL TRUTH, AND YOU CAN ONLY GET IT FROM GOD THROUGH A SALVATION EXPERIENCE! You can think yourself to utter exhaustion with your finite intellect and never come up with an iota of truth. You will live a life of mere assumption based on what you study with your human brain,
and never enter the realm of spiritual understanding. Your research and questions are futile. God is INFINITE - you do not understand the meaning of that word and all it implies because you are spiritually blind.

Continue on in your course and you will have to find out the truth beyond this life when you stand face to face with God in all His Holiness and Power. That is a tragedy when he has already made it possible for you to understand it this side of the grave.

Here is God's way of working things -- YOU humble yourself in His presence, admit your sinfulness, be sorry for it, ask His forgiveness. and, by faith receive spiritual life in your dead spirit. God will transform your mind so radically that you will never question Him again.

IT'S HIS WAY OR THE HIGHWAY IN THE VERNACULAR OF OUR DAY. "YOUR CHOICE!!!"

MY RESPONSE IS BECAUSE I AM SO TIRED OF HEARING FOOLISH PEOPLE CHALLENGING SOMETHING THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. MY FAITH IS STRONG. I COULD TELL YOU THINGS THAT YOU WOULD NEVER UNDERSTAND APART FROM HAVING YOUR SPIRITUAL EYES OPENED. YOU WOULD NEVER BELIEVE THE SUPERNATURAL THINGS I HAVE SEEN AND EXPERIENCED THAT PROVE GOD BEYOND ALL DOUBT. YOU MAY BE ABLE TO GRASP MY WORD PICTURES, BUT YOU WOULD NEVER UNDERSTAND THE WHOLE PICTURE WITHOUT GOD. THERE IS SO MUCH THAT TRANSCENDS MERE HUMAN INTELLECT THAT SHARING IT WITH YOU WOULD BE FUTILE AS IT GOES LIGHT YEARS BEYOND YOUR INTELLECT.

After reading your comments to those who answered your question it is obvious that you are very selective in what you believe. You lauded those who accept your delusion or who didn't understand you. I think it is called bigotry or subjective thinking. You just want to play with truth without a real desire to actually understand truth that doesn't fit your limited ideas.
JUST LIKE DARWIN IGNORED THE QUESTION OF 'FIRST CAUSE' SO DID YOU. YOU DON'T HAVE AN ANSWER AND NEVER WILL BECAUSE GOD IS THE FIRST CAUSE.

The fact that there is a natural world supports my biblical views!

2007-05-19 16:31:27 · answer #7 · answered by Anonymous · 2 2

Why doesn't god give us proof of his existence?
Why do we need faith?
Why can't we see his face?
Why doesn't he appear on Earth anymore?

Cuz it would be impossible for any of these things to come true in this natural world we live on.

Historically
Through the vehicle of prophecy, God throws down the gauntlet to all the other "holy books" and all the other "gods" that dare to claim the title. The God of the Bible challenged in Isaiah 41:22-23,

"Let them bring forth and show us what will happen; let them show the former things, what they were, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare to us things to come. Show the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that you are gods; yes, do good or do evil, that we may be dismayed and see it together."

OK, there is the challenge from the God of the Bible. No other book contains prophecy that has been fulfilled with accuracy. Consider, just for now, re-establishment of the nation of Israel. See the list of prophecies at this link... http://www.konig.org/page3.htm So historically, we can conclude that God proves both His existence, His Word as well as His dwelling in the eternal realm.

Scientifically
When it comes to the origins of life there are only two possibilities: Creation or spontaneous generation. There is no third way. Spontaneous generation was disproved hundreds of years ago, but that leads us to only one other conclusion, that of supernatural creation. - Secular Scientist, George Wald, "The Origin of Life", Scientific American May 1954

The likelihood of the formation of life from inanimate matter is one to a number with 40 thousand [zeros] after it. It is enough to bury Darwin and the whole theory of evolution. There was no primordial soup, neither on this planet nor on any other, and if the beginnings of life were not random they must therefore have been the product of purposeful intelligence. - Secular Mathematician, Sir Fredrick Hoyle, Nature Nov. 1981

Physically Seen
Look in the mirror, and contemplate your eye. Imagine the complexity of color, shape, 3D rendering, lens focus, iris light adjustment, low light adaptation, then contemplating with a "soul?" the life that is staring back at you. That you are a living being that is worth so much to God, He would send His only Son to die so that you may live with Him forever.

I mean, really, do you know what it took to even ask this question? You have a physical machine called a body that is able to use its mind to ponder the question, relay visual information from a physical world of comparable low-tech computers through the optic nerve, into the brain, with the mind to comprehend the ramifications, then transfer that thought process to an incredibly complex systems of nerves, tendons, and touch to the fingers to type the letters. This then communicates a question of the soul. The soul is something that science cannot a.) explain and b.) create. It can only mimic with unsatisfactory results. That soul is concerned for the existence of an eternal destiny beyond time and space--that there is a world beyond the physical world we see in the here and now. You are an incredible creation who has been given the free will choice to believe, or not believe. A being that can love, write poetry, paint or play works of incredible complexity and beauty. To smell, and taste, enjoy. So, like you, I set out on a path to find my Creator. It is obvious that He exists, but is He personal or an impersonal force? My answer came through the study of prophecy in the Bible. Like the DNA strand and life itself, it was hard to dispute the evidence. Now with the realization of the truth of the Bible, God made it clear that He was not only a personal God, but One who wanted to know ME, and that He knew everything about me--even the number of every hair on my head.
