i would like an in depth explanation if possible as to what it is about the guys that have them that is so good? or what the girls think it demonstrates about them as people?
would prefer girls only to answer please.

i don't pick guys by how they look. i date them if they have consideration, compassion, sensitivity, common sense, a sense of humor, and make me feel safe and good about myself.
i may be more likely to talk to a guy with tats and piercings only because i know we'll have something in common... and that's body art. but i know that it doesn't make the man. i don't necessarily prefer a man with them... or without them. whoever impresses me will be who i date... or a friend.
some girls just have fetishs for the guys with the bad boy look, but that doens't always mean tats and body piercings. thats all about body language and self presentation.

i make no distinction between guys with or without tattoos and piercings. from my experience tattoos and piercings do not make a guy what or who he is. i have been married to my husband for 5 years now and he just last year got his first tattoo, but he is the same guy that he was before he got it.
maybe some girls think it's a "bad boy" kindof thing but that thinking is very immature and comes with rebellion i guess.
i'm 25 my husband and most of the tattooed and pierced guys i know are 30 and older and they are regular people. there is nothing about them that makes them different from anybody else. they are all extremely nice, polite, fun and funny.

anybody loves some tatoos on an arm or chest and that i think of a touge tattoo could be quite attractive. as far as piercings pass i think of nostril,ear and bellybutton is cool yet stuff lik eyebrows are going too far

Most of my past boyfriend have had tattoos (piercings not so much). I have had in the past a tendency to go after musicans since I am one myself. Alot of musicans seem to have tats... just sort of works that way. The man I am currently dating doesn't have any tattoos or piercing (funny and he is not a muscian).
Oh P.S. I have 4 tattoos myself... ya know that saying birds of a feather flock together :)

I like to look at all kinds of different guys...so if there happens to be some hot guy (by my definition, of course) with tattooed sleeves, neck, whatever...then - he's hot. Its something about a guy's personality that makes him attractive to women, not necessarialy looks. A guy can look like cr@p and a lot of women will think he's hot; its the way you carry yourself, behave around other people...you either got it or you dont.
Pericings and tattoos or no peircings and tattoos, hot guys are just hot, the end.

truthfully, i dont care about weather or not a guy has tattoos just as long as he has a class A personality
tattoos can be cool but the only real turn off about tattoos for me is when people get them just because
really im not against them im just against them in two ways:
1) when people get tattoos just because or because they just kind of like something. i think that tattoos should have a meaning
2) when people get tattoos of drawings of people you dont know. why get somebody you dont know or have ever heard of's art work on your body?

I love tats mainly but when I met my fiance he had none at all.. I just think they are beautiful like pieces of art & have in depth meanings. You can get to know someone through thier tattoos.

i dont think it's necessarily the fact that the guy has piercings or tattoos.
i know for me, its not really a preference, it just so happens to be that my friends & people who i enjoy being around are usually pierced/tattooed; therefore, if i get close to someone, to a dating kind of level, he is most likely going to have some kind of modifications.
i dont have a preference though; guys without modifications have just as much of a chance as guy who do have them, just as long as our personalities get along.

Just kidding........I'm not into facial piercings, but I do like great tat work. I have an amazing artist and every time my husband gets new ink.......well........it's hot. His work is very themed and not just random tats. I'm not too crazy about just random work everywhere on the body. If there is some mind, body and soul behind the design and work, it does it for me.

I have several tattoos and piercings and my boyfriend is completely clean cut. I've never had a preference for my boyfriends to have any or not.
