I have 4 kids myself and I know what you feel.
Yes the B.R.A.T diet is very good
Bananas
Rice
Apple/applesauce
Toast
Lots of liquid pedialyte, Propel works better than gatorade, nothing citruc, water, pedialyte pops good too NO!! Milk.
if he doesn't eat thats ok, as long as he is taking in the fluids he will be fine. motrin works really well for the fever and fast, and also putting a damp Towel over his head when he has a fever. Good Luck and dont worry he will get better, thats motherhood for us. and most importantly take care of yourself as well.

NO MILK PRODUCTS!!! u can try pedilight water or broths. when my youngest doesn't feel good i give him baby food. he's only 16 months so he's only a little older than your son. he gets ear infections all the time and i usually give him infant Motrin because it lasts longer for the pain and it has a fever reducer in it as well. it can be taken with most antibiotics but ask his Dr first. if he keeps refusing drinks then u should take him to the er after about 5 to 9 hours because by that point if he is running a fever he can become seriously ill. i usually give my son his drink in a 'big boy cup' meaning a cup without a lid ad i hold it for him so that it doesn't spill. i can usually get him to drink at least something that way. a luke warm bath will help with the fever and so will a cool rag on the head. i hope your little one feels better really soon and good luck. if you need more help feel free to email me.

awww poor baby I am so sorry your son is sick. My 18 month old was sick for 2 weeks with the stomach flu he was hospitalized for 4 days after he got out all he would drink and keep down was slightly sweeten tea and some saltine crackers and chicken broth. Take him to the er if he just will not eat or drink at all. I hope he feels better soon. Just in case I can help with anything else I have my email opened.

Sheese, we've been so lucky with my son. A couple of coughs, a few colds, but not one single ear infection, no flu, no vomiting past the first year or so, rarely diarrhea. He's allergic to pollen in the Spring time, and peanuts gave him a rash before, but not any more. 3 1/2 tough. We keep Purell in the car and wash his hands often enough, flu shots every year since he was 1, and he hasn't had even a cold since February.

Give him hot chicken soup for his respiratory problem, or hot chick peas soup make this by adding in 1/2 a green chilli 1 tomato and salt to taste bring it to boil and garnish it with corriander /parsley make it as liquidy as possible. Chick peas will give ur son strength coz of it's protien content but it shud be really liquidy. soup like consistancy. Don't give any milk products as it's hard to break milk products. Don't feed him any baby cereal for now it's gonna complicate matters more. I'd really say give him something warm to drink so that watever cold hez got stored in his chest gets off easily relaxing his windpipe from the mucous accumulated over it. Ear infection can be treated by giving him steam but it's easily done by placing a semi hot thick cloth over his ears to make him feel good....I did this for myself by placing a thick doubled up cloth on a hot pan place the cloth on it and when it gets a bit hot to touch place it over the ear or the area near the ears. try it urself first u'll know how it feels before u do it on him.

Other remedy is take 2 pinches of turmeric powder and to it add honey make a thick paste of it and let him lick it the cold will surely be taken care of. If u give ur kid just plain hoeny that shud also help him with the cold. Honey will provide him energy too. U can give it to him say 3 times in a day but without forgetting give him honey while he sleeps. After he has honey don't give anything liquid so that the honey can work it's magic for a long time, appprox 1 hr atleast .

Do make some rice broth if u can and give the watery broth add in salt to taste. Just let his food be light and easy to consume as eating anything when u have cold is quite a nasty business theres no taste in our mouth.

Hope he gets well soon....take care of him and i hope the doctors must have given him medicines so just c to it that he eats his food and has his medicines over a full tummy. It'll help .

It is probably just a virus, but you should watch him carefully and if he starts vomiting again I would get him to a dr. A small child can dehydrate very, very quickly. As well as juice etc make sure he has water. You should boil the water and let it cool. Also, solid foods are ok but some foods should be avoided, ie meat, dairy and anything with fat. Try to keep it light.; Egg whites are good.

My mom always made what we call "Jewish penicillin". It's chicken soup with onions and eggs. I've always made it for my kids and it makes them feel better. You might also try some pedialite mixed with gatorade. Alone, pedialite tastes nasty. Be sure and keep him hydrated really well. Even if you can't get him to eat, be sure he is taking in plenty of clear liquids. My mom's rule was to stay away from milk anytime you're dealing with severe congestion or stomach upset. Hope your little one feels better soon. God bless:)

Listen to those guys on what to feed him. MAKE SURE TOO KEEP HIM HYDRATED. Have him drink 6-8 glasses of water. Not at once though, but through out the day. Try to spread them out too.

They have pedialite pops and suckers that keep the child hydrated. Also soups and broths are great, even if he can keep just a bit down. And make sure he is keeping hydrated, it will make him feel so much better. Good luck :(

Don't worry about eating... if he expresses interest, keep it bland, carbs mainly. But you really want to push the fluids. Just constantly offer him juice or water, so he doesn't get dehydrated. But kids can go many days without eating and its fine, as long as they keep up their fluid intake. I hope he feels better soon!
