Did you say you found an old W-2 that you never claimed? If that is the case, you should file an amended return for the year in question. If you never filed for that year, just download the appropriate year's forms from the IRS website and file. If it is from more than 3 years ago, you can no longer claim any refund that would have been due. If you owe, the statue of limitations for fraud NEVER expires. The sooner you clean this up the better. If the IRS finds you be for you come forward, they can press criminal charges. They rarely do that if you find them.
