If god knew 1 million years before I was born that I would never pick up a bible, never pray, never show interest in going to church and never even believe that he exists. And despite it all he still made those actions prerequisites to get into heaven. Did he do it on purpose? Did he not know or was he powerless to change those rules? If so, then he is not omnipotent. Or did he simply not care?

It seems most of you misunderstood the question. I know the difference between omnipotent and omniscient. If he is powerless to do anything about it then he is not all powerful, hence omnipotent. And almost all of you said free will, how dull and predictable. If god knows everything then we do not have free will.

The beauty of mankind and God is that he gave us the power of choice. We choose between right and wrong and what to believe. He does not Make you believe in him, but simply waits for you to change your mind. If you dont...thats your choice - not his. Just as it is your choice to be a murderer or a bank robber...I do not believe that you have to go to church or read the bible or pray everyday to get into heaven. do you honestly believe we are alone? Some people believe in God because they are afraid of being alone. Some people believe because thats all they know in life. I do not think God knows Everything - but I do think he knows all our choice possiblities. Like he watches us and says ok which option will they choose today? Are you going to hell because you dont believe? I can not anwser that but hey who knows maybe there is a heaven without a God - just a good place where Good people who dont believe can go and be. haha who knows. Do I believe in God? ... Coming from a former addict, severe alcoholic and definite black sheep of the family ... yeah I do. Why? because I have fought my demons. I suppose there is a small part of me that is still optimistic that someone is watching me and knows what I have done and where I have been and is still willing ot fight the devil for me. Good Question though...some people are retarded on here.

. Does God really Know Everything? Yes!

Does God Know The Future? Yes!

The future contains both certainties and possibilities. God knows all about both sets, so He does know the future completely. There are a number of possible outcomes that depend on decisions by free-willed beings, whom God has elected to not control. He does not have foreknowledge of those choices, but He does know all the possible outcomes once the choices are made. Hence, God can know what will be even if He does not know how it will be. God could elect to know how it will be as well if all He wanted was robots, but since He wants free-willed beings as well, He must elect to not know which choices those being will make. This is why in the Bible, God is portrayed as being surprised by choices, warning of outcomes for bad choices, and laying out consequences for the different options we have to decide among (eg 2Chron 7:14; Judg 2:19; Ps 78:8; Ps 81:12; Jer 7:24; Hos 4:16; ).

He did it for you and me. He came to the earth as a human man and lived, died and rose again for all mankind. He did this because we are all born sinful. Read the paper, watch the news. Even notice what you have done. We all sin.

Because Jesus is God, in the flesh, He never sinned and therefore qualifies to be our substitute sacrifice for the sins that we commit..

Jesus went to the cross, suffered pain and death willfully because He loves you and me. He loves us enough to lay down His life while we are still sinners so that we can overcome death because of His.

Heaven is the place where God abides. He is there and Jesus is now King of Kings and Lord of Lords there. If one wants to go there, repentance, which means to turn away from sin, and acceptance of Jesus as your Lord and Savior is required. If not, you don't have to go there.

God is never powerless. He just gives you the freedom to choose Jesus Christ as your Savior and Friend or not. He does want you to choose Jesus because He cares and loves you.

Now you have never picked up a Bible but, you have read the whole and entire message in it from my post. It is now your decision.

1 John 3:20, God tells us that He knows everything.

Titus 1:2, God tells us that He does not lie.

He is both omniscient and omnipotent.

He did know, and therefore He is omniscient. He also has the power to change the outcomes that He foresaw; but He chooses not to do so.

The fact that He knew what choices you would make does not mean that he preordained those choices, precluding your exercise of free will. He may have preordained the outcomes that would follow upon particular choices, but the choices themselves remain your free choices to make as you will.

He alone is powerful enough to tie His own hands and irrevocably surrender His power to interfere with your exercise of the free will that He gave to you. Therefore, He is omnipotent.

Its your choice to choose Him or not...He knows what you'll choose but if He did't give you the choice then you wouldn't have free will over that choice...He did what He did for you so that you would be able to choose Him, not so you would be forced too....If you had been the only person on earth and He knew you weren't going to except Him He would have done it anyway because, as the loving God He is, He did everything in His power, while still giving you free will, to save you.

Before you were formed in your mom's belly, God knew you (Jeremiah 1:5). He loved you before your parents knew you. He loved you while He was being beaten and hanging to die on the cross. Even though today you are questioning God and not serving Him, He is still loving you and He is so hoping and desiring for you to open your heart to Him. For without Him you will die in your sins. After we die in this life, we will live on forever in one of two places...Heaven or hell. I pray now, today, you choose Life. Warning to other responders..."you need to be thankful we are living in the day of Grace. Had you lived in the Old testament days and talked smack about the Lord, you would have been instantly killed. You may not understand Him, but you should respect Him!

God knows who he will save an who he will send to hell. I cannot say that you are going to hell because God may cross your life with the truth one day and make you alive(spiritually). As we stand right now we are all vessels of wrath fitted for destruction or vessels of mercy afore prepared for glory. Please do not beleive GOD gave us free will because he did not. We cannot choose to come alive the bible says so. How can a dead man choose to come to life? It is God that quickens the spirit that is to say make us alive not us by free will. Yes, he did it on purpose.

God knows everything, but He also gave us a brain to decide things for ourselves, the same way He gave Adam & Eve brains to think for themselves. So if you goof up your life, it is not Gods fault!
