The First Book of the Bible is called Genesis.
The Book of Genesis has sometimes been called the "seed-plot" of the entire Bible. Most of the major doctrines in the Bible are introduced in "seed" form in the Book of Genesis. Along with the fall of man, God's promise of salvation or redemption is recorded (Genesis 3:15). The doctrines of creation, imputation of sin, justification, atonement, depravity, wrath, grace, sovereignty, responsibility, and many more are all addressed in this "seed" Book called Genesis.
Many of the great questions of life are answered in Genesis. (1) Where have I come from? (answered in Genesis 1:1) (2) Why am I here? (answered in Genesis 15:6) (3) Where am I going? (answered in Genesis 25:8). Genesis has appeal to the scientist, the historian, the theologian, the housewife, the farmer, the traveler, and the man or woman of God. It is a fitting beginning for God's story of His love for mankind, the Bible.

Genisis is the beginning of the world that was created spirituly by us humans, the biginning of christianaty. Adam and Eve was not the first people on this earth, the dianosours were, if you read the Bible spiritually you will find that in Genisis that Adam and Eve had 2 sons who went out to some town to get themself some wifes, now if they were the first people, were did the people come from who prodused kids to be wifes to Adam and Eve's son's? So, Genisis is the first book ever written for us Christians by the very first Christians who experienced the spiritual world and had to share it with us. The Bible were also written to make good people out of us, otherwise we all would have been barbaristic without any norms and values in life, even for those who are not Christians, they learn't to be good and behave themself's because even if they do not belive in God, they have norms and values to the same value as Christians do. I'ts actually very complicated, otherwise Genisis is just the first book ever written by someone who had cept a diary and it was found just like all the other books in the Bible of all those people who kept diaries and it was all brought together to make us out here and all our antsisters to believe that someone up there is watching over us, and that was not a bad idea because it made us the best people on this planet, so I will say.
Thanks for asking, but your parents should have told you or the minister at your church or at school the teacher should have told you what the word Genisis stand for - Jenny South Africa

GENESIS - It is the "Book of Beginnings". It talks about Humanity's origin and mission, its fall and predicament, human responsibility and divine sovereignty, God's justice and mercy, his atonement for sin, the transformation of the sinner, the obedience of faith, the convenant of grace - ALL find their ROOTS in Genesis. But Genesis is perhaps most often read for its vivid account of the fathers of our FAITH - Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob - through whom God is known and can be trusted to fulfill his COVENANT PROMISES and REDEMPTIVE PURPOSE through Jesus Christ.

The word "Genesis" simply means "beginning". From that word, I believe comes, "genetics" and "generate" or the beginnings of things, people and events.
