hi, I have noticed that there is a definite "smear" or "blur" on my LCD TV but ONLY whilst playing a DVD. It is never noticable when watching normal programs or video's. Why is it doing this specifically to DVD's? Is there a cure? cheers

this is call " ghousting " or " lagging ", this is a typicial for the lcd technology, espically on fast moving items ie sport, games consoles, films.

A GOOD quaility cable will improve the dot crawl and increase the sharpness, so you can reduce it.

hope this helps wg

Try a new cable (the cheaper option) from the DVD to the TV and if that doesnt work, go for a new DVD player (the more expensive option). Or, as another answerer said, try a DVD lazer lense cleaner and see if that helps.

LCD screens have a slower response time than CRTs (typically 2 ms to 8 ms). Yours may be at the slow end of this range and therefore cannot cope with fast changing, bright coloured scenes. This effect is noticeable during close-ups of the bowler during a cricket match.

1) Try a new cable.
2) Try a different source in the same connector.
3) Try a different connector with the DVD player.

Worst case scenario is the input connector is bad.
