Let me preempt my question with the following statement: "I am a devout vegan who does not believe in using animal products."
The mezuzah (the scroll, not the case) is usually written on parchment, which is the skin of an animal (usually a goat).
I am wondering if a mezuzah written on a non-parchment material (like paper) negates its "kosher-ness?"
Is it possible to find certified kosher mezuzot written on non-animal derived material; and if so, where can I find such products?
Thanks in advance.
