jiloth7...in your eyes maybe!
You are so typical of a born again aren't you. I read your profile and your terrible life before..I'm glad you are happy now ..it's a shame you can't take credit rather than think it's "the lord" !!!
So when you left your past life behind did you leave your sense of humour behind too?
IT WAS A JOKE!!!....JUST A JOKE!!
Remember it's only you christians and a few other religious folk that think being gay is a sin. If god made us then why are 1 in 20 of us gay?

SDC
The joke never mentioned god OK??
My father was in a coma for 8 weeks..then a wheel chair for 18 months..then he died. Yes I can still laugh about comas and jokes about wheelchairs. Don't tell me what I would or would not find offensive. My own father could laugh at himself when he was trying to steer his chair and bumping into things!
LIGHTEN UP!!

i love laughing at myself!!!!!
i am a mormon, and here is a joke that i find hilarious!
Johnny was showing his brother who had just died around heaven...They were in a large hall with many doors. Johnny goes up to the first door and opens it revealing a bunch of party goers having fun. He then opened a second door, which showed people hanging out on the beach, a third door was opened and it showed people playing games and laughing...then they came to a humongous stone wall and johnny's brother yelled:
"oooh whats in there!"
and johnny replied "shhhh...thats were the mormons are...they think there the only ones up here!"

I think it's because you put it in the R&S section as opposed to the J&R section.
Naturally, religious people are going to be in this section so that's why they are offended. You could tell this joke down the pub but you wouldn't walk into a church and tell it would you?
Likewise, you wouldn't start telling pedophile jokes in a nursery.

Incidentally, what is your obsession with the R&S section? You say you are a non-believer but you seem to be asking a lot of questions.
Even your screen name could be interpreted to have a religious theme (Sister, as in nun).

If you are simply trying to prove the religious people wrong, with your questions about the whereabouts of heaven and hell etc, you are wasting your time. You will not shake off their beliefs.

In another question you state you are happy for religious people but don't want religion pushed on you.
I think this is fair, but why are you pushing your views and asking so many questions (13 so far) of the religious people?
Is it your aim to get a rise from them, and how different is it to them saying you are a lost soul etc (which annoys you, yes)?

I myself am agnostic (neither believe or disbelieve) and while I find many flaws in religion, I also try to keep an open mind. However, I don't spend all my time in the R&S section bashing what I choose not to study. If I was a Christian and I saw that someone had posted so many questions all flaming my religion then I would get defensive too.

I don't mean to offend you, and apologise if I have. I am trying to explain what I think you do not see (or are intending on doing).

One other thing... in a question you posted today you say you are 37, yet 2 days ago you said you were 34... is the R&S section aging you?
I suggest you explore the other sections on Yahoo! Answers - you might find it more fun.

ps, I liked the joke :)

Let me try to put it in content that you may understand. If someone made a joke about your father and it sounded mean, you would most likely be insulted, unless you didn't respect him.
It's the samething with God! Please have respect, it's not asking a lot, and not a lot to give.
I hope I helped.
And ps...if it's not related to God or religion~some people might take that as offense also..
You ask, and I answered you like you wanted.

Smile life is short dear!

******Girl, I am not telling you nothing! I answered your question! You asked why people get offended, and I told you how and why people get offened. Because to a lot of Christians, God is family to them. And take it personal!

SO BEFORE YOU CORRECT ME AND GET OFFENDED YOU CAN LIGHTEN UP AND PAY ATTENTION!

Chickie, the joke wasn't even funny. Don't blame people for not laughing at lame jokes.

Nope, not me. Too busy trying to earn points to waste time and giving "thumbs down" is a complete waste of time. A "thumbs down" rating doesn't cost anyone any points. The person getting them isn't penalized for it. The giver is not rewarded for it in anyway. So who cares if people give them?

if we are speaking books realistically, certain, i do decide books by technique of their covers. on the following, i commonly study the question/comic tale/ballot in the previous going off at someone to save myself looking like a suitable as.s. of course, we do not all communicate an same mind-set... ahaha, useful comic tale.

Religion has such a violent past that there's nothing funny about it anymore.

The content of your joke is an offense to God. Sex is not a thing to play with, and adultery and homosexuality are sins.
