He doesn't like you. He thinks you're a little kid. If he does like you, he's just going to exploit you.

Since you kind of have a semi professional relationship it is really not advisable that you pursue this. The fact that he is not married is irrelevant. Teachers are held to higher levels of accountability because of the nature of their jobs. While there is nothing wrong with a professor dating a college student there are some inherent complications that can come along with it and I am sure his colleagues will not look kindly towards him if he got involved with you. If you are a graduate student it may be consider more acceptable but if you are an undergraduate student then it might not be so socially acceptable.

I really respect you for being honest with us and yourself about your true feelings. Love has no restrictions, GO FOR IT! DO THIS: 1) Just ask him to listen to your for 2 minutes without interrupting you. Tell him that you are interested in a mature man and that you know exactly what you want. Tell him that you value his privacy and respect his position in life. Tell him that you are willing to gain his trust by being discreet so that there is never any evidence of a conflict of interest. Tell him you understand that there are no guarantees in life but you have to go for what you want because you only live once. Tell him that you expect him to take you to dinner. I promise HE WILL!!! P.S. YOU have to make the first move because you are in control. Society does not allow the 55 yr old to make the move on a 20 year old. But when you do it, there is nothing wrong because you are in control.

its not impossible but you should wait till the class is over then approach but till the class is over he may be hiding his signs , if its a private or big college/ university there are big conflicts of interest that they don't like , one of which is dating students , but if you are not his student after the end of the class then there shouldn't be any problem just asking them to lunch one day or anything else
also being his student also puts a responsibility that your grade is what you earned , if you date during class you don't want to fail the class because the date went badly
just try to hold off till the end of the class , then you can send all the signs you would want

Teachers can't date students. This really can lead to nothing, and it should pass as all crushes should. Crush leads to infatuation, and infatuation leads to obsession. Let it die at "crush". Crushes are a normal part of growing up, so ignore all the people that tell you to "grow up", since most people are SUPPOSED to go through what you're going through. Just get over it soon and at least have a relationship with a man who you can date without any arduous inevitable conflicts.

During the semester, he won't be able to date you, so just get to know him and enjoy the class.
After the semester, the two of you could date, as long as you're not in any more of his classes.

He knows he could lose his job doing something like this. I don't think a young man starting out as a prof is going to chance it for anybody.

Stay away from professors and anyone that has authority over you. It spells trouble for your school record. Find a nice person, there must be tons of guys at your school.

student/teacher relationships are frowned upon and are usually against the code of the school. if you want him that badly, wait until you're no longer a student. if you get into a relationship while he's your professor, it could cause all kinds of problems.
