Help! Looking for a story/fable based in Buddhism I think.?

Question

I came across a story about a boy who was told that God/Buddha existed in everything including the boy. The boy was so smug and fascinated with this that when he came upon an elephant and its rider he refused to get out of the narrow road (because they would move out of his way! For he was in essence God). When the boy almost died he went to his master who told him he had failed to see God in the elephant and the rider... who had told him to get out of the way.

Does anyone know this story or a website linked to it?

That doesn't sound like a buddhist fable, sorry. Buddhism preaches that all of us have "buddha nature" but it does not confirm or deny the existance of God.
