I am going to be 57 years old on Monday and cannot remember ANY TIME when Bob Barker was not on TV in some way. Before he hosted the Price is Right (originally hosted by Bill Cullen), he hosted another long running game show, Truth or Consequences. I will miss him too but he is getting up there and probably wants to slow down and relax for awhile before he goes to that big game show in the sky.

With such a long run, who can begrudge the guy a retirement?

I worked on the CBS Television City lot at Beverly and Fairfax for a coupla' years and I'll always remember Mr. Barker driving himself on and off the CBS lot in a modest white four-door, toting his own wardrobe over his shoulder up the slope into the PRICE IS RIGHT soundstage. No frills for Bob --- an amazingly down-to-earth Joe.

He's 82 years old and has been on tv for a long, long time. He said he wanted to retire so he can enjoy life- golfing and devoting his time to his favorite charity- animal adoption, etc.

He is a great host. I remember him from Truth or Consequences.

You may still meet him. I bet he writes books and goes on tours promoting them.

It is his time and he knows it. Have you noticed that sometimes he repeats the wrong price? I think his hearing is showing it's age. It is better to retire while you are on top.
