Well, the AGENCIES will. We've always hired a teen to do filing and basic phone stuff, stamp the mail, etc. for summers and after school. We just call to the local high school when we have an opening, and they post it.

Definitely, but it they are usually hired because they know someone that already works for the company.

My company hired over a dozen high school and college students last summer to help with some back log and project work. The combined office (home office + one regional branch) personnel count is over 700, so this could be a little bit on the high side for what a company will hire.

If you know anyone that works in the insurance business (or real estate for that matter) give them a call and ask them to call his/her human resources department to see if they have any opening. Where I work, they do not post anything in the paper because they always have a large number of internal leads.

If you don't know anyone, look in the phone book and as for the human resources department when they answer.

Good Luck!

Sure, if you are legal to work, you could work in their mail room, do filing (if they still do that) do scanning, answer phones (as a backup to the receptionist) if you have an "old" enough voice, do processing on the computer. There are a lot of things you could do that the owners of the company wouldn't want their higher paid full time workers to do.
