Writing on your skin probably won't kill you, but it's not exactly healthy, either. While most writing inks are nontoxic, they do contain chemicals that can be poisonous if ingested in large amounts. According to Health Central, you generally have to use at least an ounce (that's several pens' worth) of writing ink to induce poisoning. hope that helped

Do not write on your skin with sharp objects. By doing so, it is easier for the pathogenic organisms to enter in your body.
Dermatographic urticaria (also known as dermographism, dermatographism or "skin writing") is a skin disorder seen in 1.5 to 23.5 percent of the population, in which the skin becomes raised and inflamed when stroked or rubbed with a dull object. Dermatographic urticaria is caused by mast cells in the surface of the skin releasing histamines without the presence of antigens, due to the presence of a weak membrane surrounding the mast cells. The histamines released cause the skin to swell in the affected areas.

It's not good. The skin is a semi-permeable organ which means it will allow some things in and some things out. Chances are the ink particles are small enough to seep in which is not healthy for you. Use non-toxic washable markers if you want to draw on yourself.

to put it more clearly do you want to know if the ink from Sharpies and pens cause your blood any harm?
These materials will stain your skin but unless you puncture the skin I am safe to say that you will not fall to a disease or illness, however it will be a few days before the stain will disappear.

Some people have allergic reactions... Its always safe to test it by putting a small dot on your skin to see if irritation occurs.
Its okay as long as you don't do it in large quantities, I don't recommend it unless you are taking a quick note or phone number. If you really want marks on your skin, get a tattoo.

Sharpies are non-toxic, so yes, it's harmless aside from the trashy part. :)

No, however that would be child's play compared to what you could do with a black marker by tracing both hands [any position] onto the concrete ground. Try it, then you will truly know the difference between wisdom and folly.

some pens may contain chemicals that are harmful to the skin. sharpies, however, are non-toxic. i've drawn on my skin with sharpies for a decade or so to no ill effect.

Yeah it's completely harmless, there's no connection between your skin and bloodstream.

Its only bad if you have an open wound, as the ink can get into your bloodstream which would be poisonous. But apart from that, its harmful :)
