find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise (running, jogging, swimming etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

You don't need a gym to lose weight. All you have to do is reduce your calorie intake by about 500 calories and exercise! You have to start running or power walking or doing some sort of cardio work out daily. You also should lift weights or do push ups to build up the muscle in your arms and do 50-100 crunches or sit up to build up ab muscles. That will help you lose weight and look amazing. but don't start out trying to run for a full 30 minutes or doing 50 sit ups the first time. make sure you start out slowly and work your way up. Soon enough you will love it and want to do it more and more.

You can get excersize tapes/dvd for 20 or 30 bucks ... check out Taebo and Winsor palates... I have them both, both fun and easy to learn especially the Taebo. Palates is more about toning and stretching but also very effective when mixed with cardo
Also walking...
They say 20 minutes of hard cardio like tae bo 5 days a week. or 40 minutes 5 days a week of walking. mixin it up is a good thing to do... One you don't get bored and two you get a balanced work out.
You also wanna do some lifting. uses something like milk jugs... to do some curls etc you can fill up the jug more or less depending on what you want. If you don't want to build big muscles you still wanna lift some to tone your muscles. Or for about 15 bucks you can buy those rubber cords with handles. It's basically surgical tubing you can attach to a door or what have you to get resistance.

Do some crunches straight up and down and then do twisting ones bringing one elbow to the opposite knee for you obliques. Your abs are very important. Especially if you have a bad back... if you abs are weak you are more likely to hurt your back.

There is a show on fit tv if you have it called Fit Tv housecalls. Two trainers go to people's homes and help them set up a workout routine with out spending any money. They give them neat ideas of things to use around the house and excercises that don't need any equipment.
They also have a show called All star work outs. It's on several times a day. Each show has a different popular work out. They have cardio, basic training (bootcamp style work outs), palates, Bhangra Dance (an asian indian dance VERY FUN) and several others even belly dancing heehee. You can watch the show find one you can do and tape it.. and do it everyday.

I'll send you a bunch of links so you can check all this stuff out
Goood LUCK ... key is to find something fun and to switch it up so you don't get bored. Better yet... find a friend to work out with.. so you can motivate eachother. I have all this stuff because i'm trying to get to working out and well I can't get to the gym either. Besides working out around all the buff people when you're not... not so much my idea of FUN! YUCK!!! Sooo I hope this helps! God bless and Have fun :D
