No. Too many innocent people would die and it would reduce Bush's approval rating even further. An atomic bomb will do absolutely nothing to stop the insurgency - they don't care how many of their number die. Nuclear weapons are only useful in making the war more unpopular in the country they're used on - it was only when Japan realised that the US could level every single city in Japan within a few months that they realised the war would be futile.

No, there is no strategic purpose for using an atomic bomb on Iraq at this point if were trying to rebuild it. However the US did claim to Saddam Hussein that if any of his chemical or biological weapons are used against the US, the US is authorized to use nuclear weapons on Iraq. However the US only uses nuclear weapons as a scare tactic or for a last resort when other military strategies fail.

No. We will never do that again, especially since there aren't the same kind of heavy concentrations of military factories and we have supporters scattered through Iraq so we had to kill many of the good guys if we did that.

Hoping we don't, because to justify it small atomic device would have to be set off in USA, and with my luck would be in area of next 9/11.

If the bunker busters can take out hardened silos, then why worry about the fallout from nukes when there's already something that will do the job?

No, Iran is on the list as is N. Korea. They are before anyone. just as soon as they threaten the US or its allies with a "BOMB" the will be a glass parking lot.

Umm .. why would we?? We're not at war with Iraq. If we were do you think we'd be helping them train their security and police forces and staying on their military bases?
