Does it matter if there is a God..

Does it matter if one goes to hell or to heaven? when we refuse to believe in God, we are setting our destiny... we could be punished eternally for denying the truth that came to us on earth..

75 years of denial can lead to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire..

"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
(Revelation 20:15)

Religion is about having faith. If you had proof then you wouldn't have faith. Does it matter to you if there is a God?

And about the answer that Daniel S wrote, yes, the Egyptians did write a lot of things down. Most of which we still to this day do not understand AND the things of the Egyptians that we have recovered are only a tiny part of the culture because so much has been lost or destroyed.

Anythings possible it's one of those things you have to find out for yourself. Luckily the internet is around today. But don't ask questions thinking anyone can "prove" it to you. You have to prove things yourself.

The Whole Bible Speaks about the authenticity of God's existence because nothing is Written in the Bible that states that God doesn't exist.

I hope it will somehow help you to believe that there is an Ultimate being Who exists beyond man.

-For me, the ultimate proof that He exist is when you already search everywhere and still left a question unanswered. There is the time God exist to finish both ends of certain stories.. just like our LIFE.

let's start it with a blank.

______ created everything and lastly, the human being, a man and a woman. The man and a woman bound by love reproduce an offspring on a process called intercourse. The sperm cell met the egg cell end fertilize it by uniting with it. the unison made a zygote ........and gave birth to a baby. the baby grew up into a businessman or a president and had a family. He became successful and then die because of sickness. _______

now, what is missing to complete both thoughts? the beginning and te start?

Only GOD can fit unto it. why? because only God is the one known to be the infinite. prior to His beginning, we will never know that fact here on earth because God's totality is incomparable to our capabilities

Yes it does matter.
And why would you think a quote from the bible would settle the matter? or from the bhagavad gita?

"It ain't necessarily so:
Things that you're liable to read in the bible, It ain't necessarily so..." (Porgy and Bess)
(Unless *that's* wrong, of course!)

If God exists and is involved with humanity
(Some deists think otherwise)
Then God's view of the world is paramount. A definite factor to allow for.
If God doesn't exist, religion which maintains that God does is a social construct, for good and ill, and historically largely useful for the support of those in power, including the priests and church authorities themselves.

It doesn't matter to me at all and the Bible offers NO PROOF other than merely saying, then repeating that God exists. I repeat, it offers no proof. And contrary to what many Christians will tell you, not believing in God or Jesus doesn't make you a bad or evil person. You can be an extremely charitible, humble, kind, and loving person without having to believe in their God or any God for that matter. Believing or not believing in God doesn't make you good or bad. That's just a myth and an argument they use to justify marginalizing or even hating people who don't share their beliefs.

Yes, it really does matter. Romans 1:20 say's: "For His invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world's creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable." Also, another favorite scripture of mine that shows that God is real and can be a powerful force for good in our lives is in Hebrews 4:12: " For the word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of the soul and spirit, and of joints and thier marrow, and is able to discern thoughts and intentions of the heart."

I would say that whether or not there is a God is the most important question there is, for many, many reasons.
A great many people seem to base their entire morality on what they believe, or, in some cases, do not believe about whether or not there is a God.
Some folks think their "god" wants them to dominate, conquer, and kill in order to make him the ruler of all the earth.
Others think their "god" wants them to be whipping boys for every disillusioned, angry person that is looking for someone to blame because they don't think that their "god" lived up to his advertising.
Some put off every pleasure in this life, thinking that their "god" wants them to be dour, unhappy, and these seem to think that that same "god" wants them to get other people to join them in their misery.
Then there are those who think that "god" is in their way, and want to kick him out of every aspect of public life.
Of course, if it turns out that there is, actually, a God, then it matters very much to our eternal future as to whether or not we know Him, and how we react to Him, obviously.
I am sure that there is, indeed, a God, and that He loves His Creation beyond the telling of it. But I cannot prove this to you.
I can tell you, however, that He has promised to reveal Himself to all who sincerely want to know Him.
I think the key there is "sincerely".
Seek, He promises, and you WILL find.
In spite of those who have made "religion" so complicated, it really is that simple. Really.
=D

Yes it does matter!!! We already know there is a God but try Romans 1:18 to the end of the chapter. You can't prove to someone that God is real and expect them to logicliy make sence of it all. You can show them all the evidence in the world and they will still deny it. It ultimatly is a matter of personal choice weather they believe it or not.

I think that depends on whether you believe in God or not. If you don't then obviously you're less likely to care about Peter and the Pearly Gates then entrance to Heaven. Religion is more of a personal choice and it shouldn't really matter to anyone else if you do choose to believe ot not. To me, I couldn't give a damn, but I wouldn't go out of my way to slight people that do have faith in God. If thats their support system then great, I just wish it wasn't so forced upon everyone else. "Oh you're a non-believer? Well its Hell for you!" It shouldn't bother me, as I don't believe, but it does and I hate that.

On your second point, I think one of the only credible answers to "proof" of God without the aid of a holy text/scripture is to "look at the wonders all around us" and "see God's beauty in it"... O.o

Their isn't proof because the Bible was written by Man, and it was Jesus who said he was the Son of God, yet it took the Gospels 40 years after Jesus to write about him. Why? I think because of propoganda, and many things about Jesus have even founded to be untrue, like his ressurection. Outside the Bible their have been no witnesses to his existence. So I ask if he was so popular, why no witnesses? Egyptians had everything written down by then, I am sure the Jews would too. Nothing but plain old FRAUD!!
