Take him to the vet ASAP!! This is not a good sign. He may be having problems with his kidney's and it's critical to have him examined by a vet. Good Luck

When you are taking him for a walk he is marking his territory-all dogs do this--especially the male dogs. Male dogs will lift their leg and pee anywhere at any time. Some dogs require more water than others---just like some people require more water than others.
If he is constantly drinking water(like he cannot get enough) take him to the Vet as animals can have diabetes.

He is marking the territory to let other male dogs know that this is his. He may be drinking more than eating because of the temperature outside or being more active.

It might be nothing unusual. But you may wish to get your dog checked for diabetes.
