There is this guy on my HS swim team that likes me. He ok but I don't like him like that. I really like this other guy. How do i get him to quit hanging all over me?

I am glad you are asking this... because I think the worst thing you could do is just let him go on and on hoping that you might like him in the same way - it's not fair to him or you. I talked to a guy once who said he wishes that when a girl isn't interested, that she would just straight out tell him so, instead of making him keep wondering. It would be ok to say something like, "you know, you're a really cool guy, (and a pretty decent swimmer too....) and I'm proud and happy to be your friend. I am getting a feeling that you like me, maybe you do, I'm not sure.... but I'm really interested in another guy right now - I want you to understand that." If this doesn't work, then you will have to get firm with him....
Good luck and I hope this helps.

I agree with Jersey Girl, tell him nicely. Depending on what he is to you. If he's a cool friend and you like to hang out, then be very nice, sit him down, tell him you're interested in someone else and he should be understanding, maybe divert his attention with "hey, I heard that so and so likes you, you should go talk to her", sometimes that works.

But if he's annoying you and not really a close friend, be nice but firm. Give him absolutely NO window for opportunity, because being a guy, albeit it's been a long time since high school, but if we hear a "maybe", or an "i don't think so", then we're all over that. We consider it a challenge. But if you say "there is absolutely no way" and then avoid him, hang out with this other guy you like alot and hope he gets the hint.

Last resort, get your biggest, toughest guy friend to go have a talk with him and say she's not interested and go away :)

Hanging all over you? That alone would be enough for me to tell him to buzz off. The other guy is going to think you're with this one and that wouldn't be good if he likes you back.
You're just going to have to tell him to stop it if he's hanging on you. He'll take the hint if you show him through body language that you don't want to be touched. You can also get the message across to him by not paying as much attention to him.
There's just some guys you can't be friends with because they will always have hopes.

The next time he converses with you in that " I wanna be on you" type of talk, just tell him that you are not looking for a relationship. Sometimes that doesnt even damn work! I have this guy that just randomly knocks on my door just to converse with me, and asking me do I want to go to the movies , out to eat n what not. I have a courtroom full of excuses and the nut has not gotten the point yet. I will have to resort to just the plain ole ignorant status, and tell him I'm not interested in dating him.

Your not going to get "rid" of him if he is on your HS swim team. He will simply "watch" you and adore you from afar.

Its a shame you "dont" like him, because he would probably be the best guy for you....

I wish you well....

Try speaking to him assertively and politely and say "As nice as you may be of a person, you may not exactly be my type" If possible you can explain why in the most assertive manner possible, or you can suggest being just friends instead. You can also even suggest someone else who might like him instead (That you think he might like in return). Just be polite honest, assertive, and thoughtful about it.

Go out with the other guy. Tell the guy you don't like to leave you alone. Good Luck.

Tell him that he is nice and all but you do not have feelings for him like he has for you. Tell him honestly that you are interested in someone else and he has no chance with you so just leave you alone.

According my experience - men are so deaf when they don't like the answer :) Maybe u need to tell him how you feel, but - DO NOT BE NICE while doing that! He might hate you later, but he doesn't wish to be your friend anyways...
