If your trying to get windows xp back onto your computer, you have to format the computer, which will erase all your data, then you can install windows xp. To format, click start, my computer right click hard drive, format.

u can uninstall an operating system, u would need to format the pc that will wipe all installed programs and settings and files u have saved on the pc.
when u put the cd to install vista it should have the choice to format.

there is no uninstall process for Windows Vista... if you upgraded over your old Windows XP install you need to backup and format your system... do not try to reinstall Windows XP until you have backed up everything you wish to keep... it could completely erase your harddrive
