Like in every Religion, you will find non-believers trying to discredit or hurt the work that Christians do. Before you read these books, or the Bible, ask the Lord to give you the knowledge to understand of the words in them. If you are honestly in search for the truth and you want to be saved, The Lord will illuminate your mind and soul and you will see the truth inside these books. Do not allow anyone to make decisions for you. Search for the truth and follow it. I promise you, you will find it in the Bible and these books will assist you in understanding the Bible better.

"Great Expectations" by Charles Dickens. The movies don't do it justice, and the Ethan Hawke remake was a travesty. I can't even put it into words just how good the story is. It's a bit of a tough read, but once you get into it, it just grabs you by the ears. It's very typically Dickens, where the protagonist starts out with not alot to look forward to in life, and then this happens to turn his life around, etc. The thing I like best is that it doesn't have one of those saccharine sweet happy endings. Or if that's too serious, try anything by Sue Grafton. I love her Kinsey Milhone books!

I've been reading a book called "Know Why You Believe" by Paul Little. So far it's a great book for a Christian. I puts out points of who is God and how it comes to nature that Christians have doubts about their faith. It has been a good book for me because I had many doubts of a lot of things like about my religion and faith and throughout the years some of my doubts has been confirmed. I love this book and I would recommend it. God Bless and have a great day! =)

A book about anything.

My fiction must reads right now are Dune, Altered Carbon and Neuromancer. I've purchased about 6 of these and foisted them on people...you read this now. These books each were my favorite for a period of time.

I also adore Fagle's translations of Homer.

Oh, Oh, Oh, and if you are EVER, EVER in your life going to ask or answer a question with the word Hitler in it, you must first read They Thought They Were Free.

"Angle Of Repose" by Wallace Stegner. This is a book more for someone older because it's about an invalid who looks back on his life and his grandparent's lives. She was a Quaker and he was from the Rev. Henry Beecher Ward family. It was written around 1970 and won the American Book Award. It touches my heart each time I read it.
