I agree with you but I don't think you're going to get results with this approach.

I very much agree. When it just general questions, ask away! However, I notice quite a few questions that are clearly life threatening to the animal and let me tell you every minute counts. If you don't have the money, at the very, very least call the vet. Their not going to charge you for the phone call. They may even be able to direct you to someone or some place that can see your animal for less money. I've always had cats, dogs, and horses(28+ years) and I've seen them recover from some very serious, if not near death injuries and illnesses. However, taking little or no action can cost your pet their life! Just use some common sense before taking the time to sit down at the computer and type out a spiel on how terribly sick your pet is and how you want some miracle cure. WHEN IN DOUBT CALL YOUR VET FOR ADVICE!! I guarantee you they didn't become vets just for the money, they did it because they love animals!!!

what is your question?
I get a better idea of what you were asking by some of the answers, but your composition was totally unclear to me.
On pet questions, I agree that, if it's critical, people should take it to the vet instead of asking here.
The same is true after people or their pets have been treated by a physician or vet and then they ask here for clarification they need to get from their doctor.
It's hard to change people. Some people will ask questions that should not be asked here, but it's human nature... so I don't think we can change it.

Amen to that! Its sad to think how many animals are sitting there in pain or throwing up, and people actually feel the need to ask if its really necessary to bring their dog to the vet.

Well, depends on the situation. Sometimes it is a minor issue, and people just want to see what others think of it. But I know what you mean- some posters HORRIFY me when they tell us their situation and ask what to do, when it seems OBVIOUS they need to get to the vet NOW>

Some people don't have the money to be rushing to the vet and are looking for someone that has had experience with the problem- I thought that's what this was all about anyway. If you don't like it then quit reading the questions!

I AGREE... IN SOME CASES ITS A MINOR QUESTION AND PEOPLE HERE WITH EXPERIENCE CAN OFFER ADVICE.
BUT WHAT WORKS ON ONE ANIMAL MAY NOT HELP ANOTHER...
IF YOUR DOG IS SICK TAKE THEM TO THE VET OR CALL AND SEE WHAT ADVICE THEY CAN OFFER TO YOU TO TRY AT HOME.

I have no problem with people posting small, non-emergency things here like, "is it okay to feed my dog this?" or "when should I spay my dog?"
But these "help, my dog is DYING!" things, you just want to smack them on the head and say "duh, go to the vet dumb@$$!!!"
It is a little annoying.

Gees, people can ask what they want to! If you have a problem, don't read it! They are just worried about their pets health, and need reassurance.
