This is a question repost! I think it needs to be more put together.
Pookie is nine years old. He stretched this morning like he usually does, then abruptly sat down 'sloppy'. When my mom thought he wanted help off of the bed- since he sometimes seems unsure of getting off. He then started screaming bloody murder.
Now he won't move his backside and if you try to move him even to set him on a pillow he shrieks insanely.
He sat up slightly once when offered water, but laid down right after.
He now glares more supiciously then usually every time I enter the room (though mom can pet him and get him to go to sleep).
Should I try to put an ice pack on his hindquarters? A heating pad?
What's the maximum amount of time that he can go without drinking or pottying without being cruel? Will one day of rest at least show how serious or non-serious it is?

Maybe you should take him to the vet instead of asking a bunch of people who only pretend to have a clue.

I was just trying to post an answer to your question when you deleted it, now I've got to type it all over again!

From what you've said I think your dog either has a complete rupture of his left cruciate ligament (in his knee) or spinal problems. Neither of these are curable without veterinary attention - if the cruciate ligament is ruptured it will stay ruptured and the dog will not be able to use that leg again. It sounds like it might be this because you said he had been limping on the leg after wrestling your other dog or jumping off the bed - this often starts with limping, and the ligament can rupture suddenly, which is very painful.

I'm sorry about your situation, but I think veterinary treatment is the only answer in this case. Rest may help, and is about the only thing you can do at home. Ice or heat will not help spinal problems (which may be what it is if the dog is unable to use his back end altogether). Ice alternating with a heat pad may help the pain if it's the knee that's the problem, but it will not help your dog walk again.

24 hours without drinking or going to the toilet is going to be very serious. The dog will be dehyrated, and if he is unable to pee or poo he risks toxicity and death. If he's still not getting up after 24 hours you're going to have no choice but to either take him to a vet or give him up to someone who can afford to have him treated, as being in pain all the time is no quality of life, as you know. At least call the vet, if there's any way of getting the dog there or having them come to you they can at least give him medication to ease his pain.

Take him to the vet asap! He may have pulled a muscle or injured a disc in his back. Always try to offer fresh water and food even if they are not interested at the moment because they can dehydrate very fast. You can also try to massage the area as long as he will let you. Slow semi-firm strokes like you would be doing to someone else may help ease some of the pain. You can safely give 1 children's asprin every 6 hours also.

Severe pain and refusal or inability to move the hind end is extremely suspicious, don't waste time trying to treat at home, he may have a ruptured cruciate, fractured pelvis, or blown a disc. Your dog needs x-rays and pain relief first of all, and after that only your vet can tell you what you need to do.

Take him to the vet now. Could be arthritis. maybe he dislocated his hip. He not that old (poodles have a life span of about 12-15 years) Since this is not his normal behavior, there is obvisouly something very wrong with him. It'll be cruel if you dont immediately find out whats wrong.

Why the bloody heck are you wasting time here? It doesn't even take half a brain to realize your dog needs to be seen by a veterinarian immediately.

What, you want to show off your ability to withstand a dog in pain without having to take care of it?

Get off the computer and get in the car on the way to the vet. Dogs don't 'scream' for no reason. Your vet can evaluate and administer pain meds.

My question- why are you not off toyour vet? Sounds like your pet could have a serious injury. Even if not, he clearly is in major pain, and you need to find out why-
