It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses have been terribly persecuted for decades, often at risk to their health and life.

Even under Satanic persecution, a typical Jehovah's Witness works to ensure the safety and good health of his loved ones and himself.
...(Ecclesiastes 7:12) The advantage of knowledge is that wisdom itself preserves alive its owners

Yet all Christians well-understand that one's eternal salvation must sometimes have priority over one's immediate safety or health. For example, an ungodly person might choose to kill anyone who trespassed on his property based on some ostensible interest in "protecting" his family or possessions; is it reasonable to believe that such an immediate "hazard" would pursuade heaven to ignore this affront to bible principles? Another person might feel that the failure of one of his bodily organs is sufficiently "hazardous" to his health, and choose to kidnap a compatible "donor" and then "harvest" those organs for himself; is it reasonable to believe that heaven would tolerate such disregard for God's laws?

What do the Gospels teach about those who elevate their own preferences above God's laws? What do the Gospels teach about those who value a few months or years of troubled life in this system of things more highly than the trouble-free eternity of perfection guaranteed by God and Christ?

(Matthew 16:25) For whoever wants to save his soul will lose it; but whoever loses his soul for my sake will find it.

(Mark 8:35) For whoever wants to save his soul will lose it; but whoever loses his soul for the sake of me and the good news will save it.

(Luke 17:33) Whoever seeks to keep his soul safe for himself will lose it, but whoever loses it will preserve it alive.

(John 12:25) He that is fond of his soul destroys it, but he that hates his soul in this world will safeguard it for everlasting life.

Truly, being a true Christian (such as a Jehovah's Witness) works to ensure the best possible health for the longest possible time. A selfish life which ignores God and Christ seems at greatest risk of a permanent and untimely end, which Christians understand to mean 'anything short of eternity'.

(John 5:15) It was Jesus that made him sound in health

(Acts 15:29) If YOU carefully keep yourselves from these things, you will prosper. Good health to you!”

(1 Timothy 6:3-4) If any man teaches other doctrine and does not assent to healthful words ...he is puffed up with pride, not understanding anything, but being mentally diseased over questionings and debates about words. From these things spring envy

For the most part. This question has been asked a few times before on here. Honestly following certain basic ealth standards helps greatly, since the Bible has many good health standards in it, simply by following the Bible one can improve their lives. Here is the previous answer I gave.

Interesting query. As 1 of Jehovah's Witnesses I am often thankful that on top of all the other daily things to worry about I do not need to worry about STDs, Track Marks, Paternity tests, etcetera. However I do have several health problems. Birth defects and such. My brothers were born rather healthy, I was not. Nothing serious just annoyances. Because, in part, of my problems many do not accept me. I know that because I strive to follow the Bible I am accepted by my brothers and sisters at the Hall. It would not matter if I were Brad Pitt or Screech from SBTB. Because of this fact of acceptance whether poor or rich, sick or healthy, and the fact that each of us can turn away from bad courses and try to follow the Bible there are those of us who are sick. Some who join have lived lives that involved Drugs, Drunkenness and Debauchery. So I doubt there is a large difference in the number of infirmed that are or aren't Witnesses. I do know that we are safer when we follow the Bible in that as I said no worries of getting a bad Heroin needle. It would be interesting to see how the numbers stacked up. I would especially be interested in those who were born to and stuck with their chosen faith through their lifetime as they would be constantly living under these standards.
Sorry I am sooooooooo long winded..

1) False: we hate the sin, not the people. 2) False: we welcome all. 3) False: they have to abandon the homosexual lifestyle. 4) True: we hate the sin, not the people. 5) False: we should hate what is bad in God's eyes. 6) False: since it is a sin, they should be reproved, and if unrepentant, disfellowshipped from the Christian congregation. 7) False: they must change their attitude toward homosexuality as far as God the Almighty is concerned. @ Big Guy 360: Hi there! You said: "However, I am, as classified by the Jehovah's Witnesses an opposer." As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I do not classify you as an opposer. I do, however, take note that you need to be educated in Bible teachings and that you ask insincere questions.

Yes it is. Jehovah's Witnesses follow the Bibles command to "flee from fornication"(1 Corinthians 6:18) which is a protection from STDs, social and emotional consequences. They follow the Bible's command to not overindulge in food or drink. (1Corinthians 6:10, Proverbs 23:20-21) They have dedicated their lives to Jehovah God. This means they care for their bodies as something belonging Jehovah.(Romans 12:1) They recognize that the dead can not praise Jehovah(Psalms 115:17) so they take reasonable care of their health without disobeying Jehovah's commands or becoming fanatical about it. (1Timothy 4:8, Acts 15:28-29). They also practice self-control, an aspect of the fruit of God's holy spirit. It helps them to maintain a "calm heart" which the Bible reported results in life thousands of years before medical science discovered the same thing.(Proverbs 14:30)

Absolutely! It is very healthy to follow the principles and guidelines set down for us in God's Word, the Bible! That is one of the reasons that we CHOSE this way of life, besides the fact that it pleases our Creator that we look to him for guidance instead of thinking that we know what is best for us without listening to him! Who better to guide our lives than the one who is the Creator and Lifegiver? Jehovah's Witnesses lead a very healthy lifestyle, we don't smoke tobacco, take drugs, or blood transfusions which are tainted with no telling what! We don't have sexual relations outside of marriage...and the list goes on. You can read about some of these things by following the links I am providing...

First...Jehovahs Witnesses believe in Medical care. Preventative, Emergency, you name it. They get it. They take medications. The only thing they avoid is blood or blood products. They will not have a blood transfusion, they do not donate blood. They wont take medications that are derived from blood or plasma.

There reason behind this is that they believe blood is sacred. It is life. They wont contaminate their blood with blood or blood substances that may be impure. If they got a case of rectal crabs,or any other kind of crabs, they would seek the appropriate medical treatment. I doubt highly you would see a Jehovahs Witness with a raging case of rectal crabs because they respect their body more than that.

Their lifestyle is an exceptionally healthy one. They believe the body is truly a temple. The take wellness and prevention very seriously. They utilize alot of alternative care options to prevent becoming sick. They eat properly, rest as they should and excercise. They avoid excess.

We should all be so conscientious about our health.

Thank You, for recognizing that it is a 'chosen' 'lifestyle'
Since we have chose, to serve Jehovah He takes care of us;
Ps. 145:20-Jehovah is guarding those loving him

Mentally:
Witnesses' face the same ill & ailments of all mankind. (migraines, dyslexia,etc...)
We take care to guard our hearts and minds...
Php. 4:7-will guard your hearts and mental.

Emotionally:
Trusting in Jehovah in all ways;
every aspect of our life, His will leads and guides us,
we are training to be calm, reasonable,
respectful, to love others as we love ourselves,
this gives us a 'special*' peace of mind.
Prov. 3:5,6

Physically:
We respect life, and most importantly the Giver of Life.
From tobacco, to pre-marital sex. From blood to drugs...
we abstain from, even shun these things.
Good health and prosperity to YOU.

*Its not from man.

I would definitely say so. They stand up for Bible principles and live according to it's word. Who knows more than Jehovah? No one! In fact, I've chosen that lifestyle for myself.

Well Brooklyn! I dare to differ. I find that you can discuss just about everything under the sun with them! Exept perhaps when it seems to them that someone is plain looking to "blaspheme" against the holy One Himself! with absolute nonsense... Then yes! They will shun that as their only fear is that of displeasing Jehovah! Which by the way is the one and only healthy fear bar none!
I also have the adopted that same lifestyle and found that just as the Jews who once were His chosen people on the planet, never had the problems and diseases that affected the rest of the nations on earth if only they listened to God's recommendations, so are the Witnesses, free from all sorts of worldly problems and woes, such as AIDS, STDs, crimes and jail-time, pagan-rooted celebrations such as X-Mas, Easter, Holloween, etc., which saves them so much in time, effort, energy and money, which they'd rather use in much more healthy ways, such as vacationing with their families and loved ones and participating in international assemblies, where they not only enjoy every minute of the two or three days they all spend together but get a veritable spiritual feast such as the world itself cannot even begin to imagine... They have less heart attacks, cancers, and blood-related diseases (as the blood of any human being is in the person's blood, even seven years before it shows up!) and really are a testimony that nothing compares to the best advice on the planet which is found in the only book claiming divine inspiration on the earth, namely the Holy Bible! which they use as their guide and not just to quote some very few scriptures which were given them by Babylon the Great, the Empire of False Religion, on the earth, led by none other than God's very own Archenemy Satan, who has been pulling their strings for longer than anyone cares to remember! As they don't hesitate to read the book over and over, from cover to cover on a yearly basis and more, which they do for more reason than to just memorize a scripture here and there, but to apply all of its accurate knowledge in their daily activities, which absolutely leads to the wisdom of God itself... who is nothing less than pure love, wisdom, power and justice! They also learn real and lasting happiness as they love to cultivate the fruits of the holy spirit or active force seen at Galatians 5: 21, 22, as they put their absolute faith in a God who can do just about anything He pleases except lie! Titus 1:2 and don't go the route of the Jews who abandonned God when they abandonned His son Christ Jesus, who came to offer them the ultimate sacrifice any Messiah could have given them, his perfect life on a torture stake, so that we could all have the promised everlasting life which was so lovingly offered with only one requirement to our first parents, namely Adam and Eve, who chose to believe the one who first made himself above Jehovah... who will not allow any other god to upsurge Him not even for a New-York second! Psalms 83: 18 and who rewards all those who live and work as for Him and not men! As He Himself looks in secret and rewards accordingly! Thank you!

Not for me. I keep smashing my finger in the door every time I slam it shut in their faces.

And judging from all the thumbs up on the pro-witness answers, there seems to be an abundance of them here at Yahoo.
