To start off,i have to say that my english is really bad. There will definitely be problems occuring in my question, such as phrasing, spelling and even grammer mistakes.Sorry to those who bother to continue reading.Thanks.

Does one really need to study to achieve what we called as a better life,as in a higher standard of living? One with a higher educational background might not be as civilized as one who doesn't.One might not be as creative and they might even have problems with communciating;bringing thier ideas across to others?

So why must we study?

Studying do allow one to become more knowledgable. But it will also lead to them becoming less curious about the world around them,as the facts are presented right in front of them.
So is studying really that beneficial?

"Knowledge is Power".

The more one knows, the better he or she communicates, and the more opportunities are open to them. We study to learn job skills and survival skills.

Another adage, "When one stops learning, he dies". Many make it a main goal on life's journey to study, to learn, to understand. To understand their own environment and just as important, to understand other cultures and our positions with them on this planet.

The curious will study. Knowledge is Power, and yes, studying is beneficial.

Studying is crucial. As a lifetime student, I can tell you, that the more I learn, the more I am aware of all the things I don't know. As a result, the more I learn, the more curious I get. You talk of civilization. Human decency can be obtained by higher knowledge. As a child, had you never been taught to behave, or to use speech, you would be like Tarzan. Difficulties in creativity, communicating and bringing ideas across to others does not necessarily mean a less civilized life. It means they are endowed with gifts others are not. This is what makes the world go round. Engineers build bridges, composers make music, athletes provide entertainment and a sense of team to the whole community. But, in order to do these things we must first study and learn them. One cannot get to the Super Bowl without studying the opposing team's game, and conquered.

It is true, there are those who lack desire to learn. These people often live sedentary lives, statistically earn lower incomes and experience proportionately higher crime rates. So you ask what must we study. We as a people must study everything. And fortunately there is enough differences of tastes and interests in all people of to match all the possibilities of study options. Just know what you would like to learn and go.

Less curious? No way- more curious, perhaps. the ''better life''- what does it mean to you? [300 words, double-spaced...
:-).] if all you need are ''three hots and a cot'', welcome to the exciting world of cab driving. Or fast food service. Or grocery cart retrieval. Nothing wrong with any of these jobs, but if you have a hope that you can do more, can be more, you will need to know more. Get more education. Variety isn't just the spice of life, it's the only way to a better one.

If your studies requires research, rather than just learning what is in a textbook, you could find that quite a challenge. On the other hand, studying in itself requires you to look outside of your self and your present experiences to find answers.
