My friend-- and ex-- had been planning a day to just let me relax and think about myself and not help anyone else. I've been really stressed lately and I never really have a break. I don't remember the last time I went on vacation. And I have a lot of problems. They think it would be good for me. I don't know how it will work out because I never put myself before others. I'm always thinking about others. I'm just looking for your opinions. Anything you want to say, go ahead-- even if you want to say something mean. I'm flexible today. =)

This is a feeling that many women feel when they have the opportunity to pamper themselves. These women, and apparently you, probably have become accustomed to sacrificing their own needs for others. You need to realize that just as the people your have cared for have needs, you do too, and there is nothing wrong with taking sometime to pamper yourself.

A "DEE DAY" is an excellent idea! If you are in the business of taking care of others then it is really important that you allow yourself a day to take care of your self. Make it a mini spa day. A day to relax, get your nails done, watch a movie, read what you want to read, get a foot massage, walk the mall or anything else you want to do. YOU ARE WORTH IT!! Your friends and family think that you are worth it because they are encouraging it.
Wellness and getting a balance in your life is important. In fact, it is more important than your taking care of others. You cannot give to other people what you don't have. If all you have is stress, then that is what you give. When you are balanced and relaxed, the people you deal with will receive positive energies from you and respond in a positive manner. .
Take some time for yourself daily; even if it is only to relax in a tub for an hour. It will do you good.

ENJOY YOUR DAY,

Everyone should have a "me" today periodically and every day a "me" hour.

Daily you need to take time for just you, whether it be a bath, a quiet time listening to music, a long shower, etc.

But vacations and "me" time are vital to the mental health and allowing one's body and brain to relax. There are a couple of good "me" vacations.

Take a cruise, no phone, no computer, just sleeping, eating and watching the waves.

Go to a hotel for the weekend and never leave the room, so you have a jacuzzi and room service.

My "me" time is to visit family without the hubby or to go to lunch with friends or just to curl up in bed and watch an old movie for two hours. Every person needs "me" time but the type has to be determined by the person, who is the only one who can truly say, "Yes, this is very fun and relaxing."

forget "dee day". I say take a "dee three day weekend" somewhere warm and fun. lol
but really, everyone needs a break from thinking about others to focus on themselves, so don't be afraid to call out sick and stay in bed with a good book, or go to the mall and buy that little black dress you've been eyeing.
have fun!

Yes, Dear. Just look at the way you wrote the question. You answered it yourself. Everyone needs time for themselves. Take a Dee Day.
