I've been watching some interviews regarding this, even as an atheist I find it to be pretty absurd. My question is to Christians -- do you believe that anyone who has taken part in this challenge is headed for hell with no hope or do you think they haven't really committed the unforgivable sin and could still be saved and forgiven?

Its a challenge for non-believers to commit the unforgivable christian sin of blaspheming the holy spirit on webcam and uploading it to YouTube.

Great question! I hope you get honest answers.

And, when I was a christian, I would have felt horrible about it, but I would have said that yes, they have committed the unforgivable sin :( They would be eternally damned

The Blasphemy Challenge is nothing but a simple way for non-Christians to make it clear that they're not scared of Christian superstitions. That's all it was ever meant to be.

I deny the Holy Spirit. I, too, am not afraid.

EDIT: Lynus above me is making 'context' up out of thin air--nowhere in the Bible does it define 'denying the Holy Spirit' the way he did. Ironically, he himself is blaspheming. Wasn't there something in Revelations about changing what the Bible says...? ;)

Blasphemy against the holy spirit in this context means dying without God.

I'm not making this up, I don't even believe in this stuff. This is what some Christians say the meaning of that verse is.

If they mean it truly in their heart that they are denying and blaspheming the Holy Spirit then there is no forgiveness, not in this world, perhaps at Jesus's second coming

I'm sure they do believe that they will go to Hell, but the blasphemers don't.

Satan will try anything he can to take us away from God! It would be unforgivable!
