they live both in the house.
sometimes whenever they get close, the dog starts humping my cat. what should i do?

get a spray bottle with water and spray him every time he mounts the cat.
OR, put a couple pennies in a pop can and when you see the dog mount the cat, shake the can like crazy! This noise drives animals crazy and will soon deter the unwanted behavior!

The dog is showing the cat that he is higher on the hierarchy. It's normal for animals to do this to other animals and also people. If it bothers the cat or you then grab the dog away and say uh uh or stop and redirect the dog to something else such as a favorite toy or a game with you.

As some others have reported, the dogs isn't doing this out of horniness, it isn't sexual in any respect. it truly is in simple terms your dogs protecting on your cat " you're my *****, i'm dominate over you" in simple terms tell the dogs no anytime she does it. i presumed it became so unusual the first time I witnessed this dominance humping ingredient. I had a tiny puppy and a huge dogs became humping it!

Hello..it's a dominent thing NOT Sex & you can try telling the dog ..frimly No, but it's normal behavior for animals, just embaressing to humans ..fixing might help..squirting at his butt NOT the face too & never grab them to seperate them...but firm No's might help..Take Care :)

If they aren't already have them neutered.
Your dog is probably showing dominance to the cat. Have a spray bottle of water ready and give him a good spray everytime you see him doing this.

The dog is telling the cat the they (the dog) are in charge. THEY ARE NOT HAVING SEX!!!!! Keep the in seperate rooms or spray them in the face with water when they do it.

absolutely, neutering will stop this. A male dog that's not fixed will never stop such disgusting behaviour.
