The dentist cannot whiten your capped tooth, but a home whitening kit is probably the best thing you could do here. You would take your dentist-made custom tray and put a drop of whitening gel on either side. Then insert the tray onto your teeth. Repeat this once a day for a couple of weeks, and you should get there. The important thing is to whiten the two adjacent teeth a little bit more white than the crowned tooth, because the bleach will rebound back slightly.

If you don't want to do that, or your dentist's kit is beyond your budget, then here's the over the counter solution. But some Colgate Simply White paint on whitener. Get a bunch of cotton balls. Bite together and stuff each cheek until your lips are forced open. Paint the whitener on your two problem teeth, lie down, and leave on there for 30-60 minutes.

Personally, I prefer the first method, but I leave the choice up to you. Finally, the best toothpaste to maintain your newfound whiteness is Ultrabite Advanced Whitening. Should run you about a dollar a tube. Remember, whitening toothpastes don't really help you attain whiteness, but they are pretty good at helping you maintain it by preventing stain buildup.

Good luck.

I don't know if you can get it in stores but on the shopping network they sell Allure Smile. I know this because it's my boyfriends before and after picture that they use on the show. I've used it and it works better than crest white strips however those are affordable and do work. Rembrant makes a good whitening toothpaste but that takes a while to make a difference. If you're going to do the whitening kit from a store, get the crest kit. it comes with whitening tooth paste, mouth wash, and the strips. It was $29.99 as a christmas special however now it's likely back to $35-40

Any type of dental restoration will not bleach. Only natural health tooth enamel will work with bleaching agents. My recommendation is bleach all your teeth to the shade you like then have any restorations redone to the matching shade.

In fact no one and nothing can! The colour of one's teeth depends on chemical composition of one's body and its inherent colour cannot be altered. Brushing is only to maintain its quality and prevent decay.

The market is flooded with all types of toothpaste but even without any one should be able to maintain one's teeth in good condition - by using a pinch of salt whenever one brushes one's teeth!
