Sadly you are asking the JWs the wrong sort of question. Christians have been arguing this since the JWs where founded back in the 1800s. The best sort of question is to ask them about their faith. Tell them your testimony, what Christ means to you and why His sacrifice is sooo important.
Good try though

Thank you for asking the question.

From our point of view the Trinity doesn't make sense. For instance, you say Jesus raised himself from the dead but if he did that then he couldn't have died. Jesus was raised by a separate personality, his Father.
I realise that the Trinity doctrine may be held dear to you if you were raised with such a belief but if we really want to know the truth then we can only find out what the truth is by examining the scriptures.

For instance, the following scriptures disprove the Trinity

John 14:28 - shows that the Father is greater than the Son
Colossians 1:15-18 shows that Jesus had a beginning (unlike the Father who has always been)
John 1:18 - no man has seen God at any time (many saw Jesus)
John 17:3 - mentions two separate persons (no mention of the holy spirit)
Matthew 24:36 - Jesus clearly says here that he didn't know something that the Father knew. How could this be if they are the same?

There are many more but I hope that these scriptures will help you to see why we don't believe in the Trinity.
Please email me if you would like any more information.

‘Christ according to the faith, is the second person in the Trinity, the Father being the first and the holy Ghost the third. Each of these three persons is God. Christ is his own father and his own son. The Holy Ghost is neither father nor son, but both. The son was begotten by the father, but existed before he was begotten--just the same before as after. Christ is just as old as his father, and the father is just as young as his son. The Holy Ghost proceeded form the Father and Son, but was an equal to the Father and Son before he proceeded, that is to say before he existed, but he is of the same age as the other two. Nothing ever was, nothing ever can be more perfectly idiotic and absurd than the dogma of the Trinity.’

Jehovah's Witnesses teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe!

Jehovah's Witnesses love and respect and honor Christ. However, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the Scriptures quite plainly demonstrate that Jesus and the Almighty are separate distinct persons, and the Almighty created Jesus as His firstborn son.

(Colossians 1:15) the firstborn of all creation

(Mark 10:18) Jesus said to him: 'Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.

(Revelation 3:14) the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God

(Philippians 2:5-6) Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God's form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God

(John 8:42) Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth

(John 12:49) I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak

(John 14:28) I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am

(1 Corinthians 15:28) But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him

(Matthew 20:23) this sitting down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father

(1 Corinthians 11:3) I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; ...in turn the head of the Christ is God

(John 20:17) I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.

(Deuteronomy 6:4) Jehovah our God is one Jehovah

(1 Corinthians 8:4-6) There is no God but one. For even though there are those who are called "gods," whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many "gods" and many "lords," there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him

Thanks again for an opportunity to share what the bible actually says about the distinct persons of Jesus Christ the Son and Jehovah God the Father!

Have a look at the book "Exposing should you believe in the trinity" by Angel Arellano. You will see what the track record is on accurate quotes by the Watchtower. They haven't had one accurate quote in the book. This is a real problem for credibility. They say the word trinity isn't in the Bible, but neither is "theocratic" or "organization"!

Where does it say he went to Hades, actually he was making God's declaration of judgment on the fallen angels, while he was dead? It says he did that after after his resurrection, by his Father.

Also, where does it say the Holy Spirit is God?

Because that word is not in the bible, it is not something that Jesus told his followers and its something that is not suported in any way. Follow the link below for more info.

They're not trying to do Jesus' work - they are trying to spread what they believe to be the message of truth. Jesus was resurrected by God. They believe there will be armageddon - those who know about the truth and follow its practises will be let through to a paradise earth.
