It states(NIV)-- the Lord God formed the man from dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and the man became a living being. This is talking about the first man and how he became alive.
Try these to prove God is against abortion...
Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you...
Psalms 139:13-14 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Luke 1:41 ...the baby leaped in her mother's womb...

and these make reference to removing a baby from the mother's womb as terrible...
2Kings 12:15-16
Hosea 13:16
Amos 1:13
Abortion is wrong to God. He is against it.

acid- we don't say everything that happens is in God's plan. We say that God has a plan for each person. Sometimes the choices people make remove them from that plan. Abortion is NOT God's plan, not even close. And we are not loons.

, gorgeous--Many taken out of context. People were killed in the old testament as a consequence to an action. God never killed anyone just because he didn't want them. You are wrong. You're twisting the meaning in the scripture. As I already stated, Gen2:7 is when the creation of the first MAN was done, not the first baby. It is how it all began, not how everyone's life begins. Re-read your scriptures, God has never and would never condone abortion.

also to gorgeous Numbers 5 reference isn't about abortion. It is about losing her ability to ever have children again and miscarriage. Read them correctly and then read the notes that go with the verses. Mine is NIV study Bible.

Interesting question. Yes this is a root problem that says the littlest 'who' isn't a 'who' at all. That not until it takes its first breath does it become a 'who'.

Babies are being prepared in the womb from the moment of conception. Gods purpose is that when two, male & female come together as one, life can result. The beginning of the life of a human being.

This is Gods plan. That is why it is wrong to fornicate or commit adultery. Because Gods original plan is that when two come together in love & create a new being. Because of fornication & adultery, people get unwanted pregnancies, when this baby in moms tummy is still beautiful in Gods eyes.

Amen. Blind eyes and hard hearts will not accept it, though. References are demanded as proof of Christian claims until they are actually produced. Once made known we become narrow minded or bigoted. Being labeled as such our faith is dismissed as fantasy. At least publishing references will assure new Christians that we are not just talking through our hats.
Abortion today is nothing more than a means of birth control. When personified it becomes murder.
My lifetime stretches back to the Roe v. Wade days and I can tell you for a certainty the death rate from botched abortions in back alley clinics was not that great, not when compared to the rate today. In an abortion one person always dies. The person who mourns the loss of that innocent child is then labeled as heartless and unloving by those who wish to preserve an escape route for their sin.

Edit:
Lynus....In the verse you quoted the struggle is between two men, not a man and a child. The death is not premeditated.

Baestek: Let me first express my sincere hope that the little one survives so that this question will be a moot point. However, we are told at Romans 3:23 that 'all sina nd fall short of the Glory of God". Please don't take this as absolute "gospel", but my feeling is that the baby, having been born and started life has every chance of being resurrected along with the rest of dead mankind.

Abortion came about in the last 100 years. Before that women had the baby. After the birth she could give it up or keep it.

But in bible times if someone were to harm the baby while she was pregnant the man who killed the child should be put to death. God says a life for a life.

If a woman was pregnant by another man she would have the child and then be stoned to death if it was adultery. Her and the man who impregnated her.

If it was rape and she screamed out she was saved from death...if she kept silent she would be killed.

If it was her betrothed he would marry her and never be able to divorce her.
If they were not engaged the man would be killed for rape.

The nation of Israel was under the Law Covenant. The whole nation was judged by it's weakest members...therefore if they did not police their own the whole nation would lose favor with God.
He told them you must be holy as I am holy.
No one but Jesus was able to uphold and fulfill the whole law.
Jesus made it obsolete although there are some things we still use today.

The Bible shows that God does NOT consider human life to be precious. He kills OVER 2 million people, including babies, and that isn't counting fetuses or the number of men, women, children, and fetuses killed during the Flood or the Slaughter of the Firstborns, when we are not told how many people he killed.

The Bible clearly shows that God approves of abortion, and in many cases commands it:

The Bible approves of killing pregnant women: Genesis 38:24, Numbers 31:17

The Bible approves of abortion: 2 Kings 15:16

God approves of abortion: Hosea 13:15-16

People are not counted as persons until they are a month old: Numbers 3:15

The Bible contains directions on how to abort any pregnancy caused by adultery: Numbers 5:12-31

The Bible says that being aborted is better than living a bad life: Ecclesiastes 6:3-5, Matthew 26:24

The Bible says that a person becomes a living soul when he BREATHES the BREATH of life into his nostril (fetuses don't breathe): Genesis 2:7

He's also against divorce and living together. And masturbation. But you don't hear too many people trying to get the government to ban those things do you? And the point is that it's a personal decision which everyone needs to make for themselves. You believe a fertilized egg is a human...fine. Don't have an abortion. And don't take the pill or use an IUD because that is just abortion without knowing it. But our government should not make laws because YOU think the bible says it's wrong.

You are right.

Sin is what's behind it, the desire to sin. Often people will sin and want to sin again to get them out of first sin they committed.

They have to twist and lie about scripture to say that abortion is ok. Or they have no regard to it at all.

If a person is willing to kill an innocent baby, then lying surely isn't a big deal to them.

Of course God is against it; He decreed that each soul (already created souls) would come thru this flesh age one time to make an ultimate decision of who they would follow, Christ or Satan.
Those who choose abortion are literally stopping the will of God who sent that soul thru that conception. And, not only is the person guilty of killing ONE of Gods Children, but they are guilty of multiple others who can not come thru that one that was aborted: their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, etc. All those are on the hands of the person who aborts that one child.
The problem really is this: People do not believe what is written in Gods Word, so they don't see any reason to follow it.

Mans lack of knowledge will be his destruction. Where does all knowledge come from? God. There ya go......

A soul is a soul at the moment of conception. There is no going back. If you have a soul you are alive. If the baby is aborted the day after, the month after, two months after - it is murder. No and's if's or but's!

Not only are those references made about removing that baby from the womb...But In one of them, They almost remove the baby until they found that The woman was not adulterous as they thought she was....

In Hosea it clearly, plain and simple says and I quote "and this was EVIL in the eye's of the lord"
